Having More Fun!

Two more quick sketches using my new Staedtler Watercolour Pencils.  The first is a busy Front Street scene from Caye Caulker Belize.  All the roads on Caye Caulker are of beautiful compact white sand. If a person stops and looks at where they are walking they will see sea shells and bits of coral mixed in with the sand.  I may have gotten carried away with the shade from the palm trees making that white sand disappear.  It is a quick sketch with mixed results, right? The other sketch is strictly from my imagination.  A bit idyllic I would say.  “A Busy Front Street” is Staedtler Watercolour Pencils on Canson Mixed Media 7”x10” paper.  “Small Island” is Staedtler Watercolour Pencils on Opus Essentials Sketchbook 8 1/2” x 11” paper.  Both original art by Susan Feniak

p.s. The only pavement we saw while on Caye Caulker was the airport runway.  No need for roads when the biggest mode of transportation are two wheeled bikes, golf carts or your very own two feet.  Bliss.

  1. Hi Susan I love your upbeat titles and lovely accomplished sketches. I too have struggled with this medium, any tips?

I really like that one on the right with the sun, Susan. You are getting much more out of these watercolor pencils than I ever have been able to. Good job!
