So soon? Seems like I just did this. This month I have drawn a male pine grosbeak. I look forward to seeing all the other bird portraits!
original art by Susan Feniak water color pencils, acrylic, ink, on paper.

Beautiful work Susan. Love how he is looking at the fruit, like “should I or shouldn’t I?”

Exactly! The fruit is over wintered crab apples. No doubt fermented on the branch. Amazing he can stay on there. 🙂 Thank you Mary.

He’s a new one on me, Susan, and he’s adorable! Wonderful colours and I like the watchful gaze.

Thank you Jacob! He is a north American bird. I like to think he is eyeing up one of those wee fermented crab apples for a snack. Surprising he can stay upright on the branch! 🙂

I googled them Rebecca and it would seem they are a North American bird. The UK has plenty of beautiful birds so don’t feel bad. 🙂

Nice movement and I love the red of the feathers with the red of the berries. (K)

Wow! Nice! I love the colors on this one… and don’t think I’ve ever heard of this bird before. But it’s incredibly lovely and well done, Susan! 😍

Thank you Charlie! Grosbeaks are common to this area of Canada. Not sure where else they meander to but no doubt a quick google will answer that one! 🙂

What a cute little bird, I don’t think we get them in the uk? If we do I have never seen one.

Thank you Rebecca. I am not sure if you get grosbeaks in the UK. They are pretty common in parts of Canada.
