I was going to save this one for April’s Draw A Bird Day but decided to post it now. I can always paint another one right? These two brown pelicans sat in that palm tree keeping my husband company while I was off snorkeling at Silk Caye, Belize. There is a grand total of five palm trees on the wee atoll of Silk Caye, two picnic tables, an outhouse, a couple of barbecues and a lot of pelicans waiting and watching. There really isn’t much for a patient husband to do but wait and watch along with the pelicans. I truly enjoyed my snorkel adventure! My husband? Perhaps not so much.
Lovely painting Susan! ~Rita

We have been studying Winslow Homer so lately I have been eyeing Florida for painting inspirations while I am here. Big and small varieties of palms are everywhere.

Florida provides lots of inspiration. As you can tell I enjoy painting palms. It always reminds me of them rustling in the breeze and of course the beaches. Thanks for stopping by Lucy.

I associate a lot of memories with paintings too.

Your husband should have gone snorkeling too. I love the tree and the birds, but think I would be nervous knowing that they were above me watching and waiting. Waiting for what? I don’t know. LOL
I’ve been to Belize and this reminds me of the wonderful time I had there. I can smell the salt air.
