National Lima Bean Respect Day #doodlewashaday

I am afraid the lowly lima bean has never won much respect at our house. Even our dog would lick the plate clean and leave behind the lima beans. All that being said my Father said they were his favourite vegetable. Now whether that was to convince me and the dog to eat them or they truly were his favourite I will never know. But here is the plate licked clean and the lima beans left behind. Poor lima beans.

Lol! I’m with you, Susan! I’m not much of a lima bean fan probably because they got all dried out sitting there alone on the plate when I was a kid… ah, the memories! Good one today! 🙂

LOL! You conveyed that well in both words and painting! My MIL used to make succotash with lima beans and hubby never liked it. He tried to make it for us once and I didn’t care for it either. 😀

Don’t worry, we respect enough lima beans at our house to make up for your dislike of them. Funny that most dogs eat anything – mine likes limas but won’t eat celery.

We used to feed our lima beans to the dog under the table…she liked them! As did my mother of course. I still won’t eat them, although I like lima bean soup. Your drawing made me smile. (K)

Thank you Kerfe. Glad I made you smile. Your story made me think that perhaps our dog would have eaten the lima beans if we had hand fed them to her. She loved fresh peas out of the garden and ate green and yellow beans as fast as I could pick them. 🙂
