#SelfieArt Day not really a #doodlewashaday

So instead of doing my #doodlewashaday I actually tackled a self portrait. A serious one. I am not even in an exotic place this month. Unless you want to take into account this self portrait is based on a photo taken of me on board Holland America’s ship Nieuw Amsterdam in the middle of the Caribbean a couple of winters ago. To make sure the drawing resembled me I put it in front of my husband and asked, “Who is this?”. The answer was correct, “Its you.” Which I will take as a compliment. Yay I did it!! But then hubby added, “With bug eyes.” sigh. Regardless I will post and present to you with a certain amount of pride my #selfie for April 25th 2016.
Original art by Susan Feniak pencil on Canson Mix Media 7”x 10” paper. If I had added color this could pass as a #doodlewashaday too.

Thank you Laura. I guess it does take a certain amount of bravery. I look at it as more of a challenge and I am generally up to taking one on.

Me too, but not with this one for some reason lol. Every self-portrait I try looks horrid and I’m embarrassed to even show it to people I know! I admire all of you!

I think your self portrait is wonderfully you! 💕😍 So happy you were brave to share too! 😄 My first few tries were a bomb according to my hubby so I stopped asking for his opinion. Lol!

Hehe…I had to work from a photo to draw myself without glasses…otherwise it would have been an abstract. Lol

OMG yes Nina! I have a close friend who has likened me to Shirley McLaine. I laughed her off. I thought she meant I acted like her not looked like her. Who knew? Thank you for thinking I look glamorous. I am flattered. See me blush? 🙂
