I could have chosen several other options among them Prime Rib Day. Because I am not much of a story teller I thought I would bring your attention to reading a story instead. If you read a book aloud doesn’t it then become telling a story? I think so. Therefore I have doodlewashed the possible jacket cover for a book that was a particular childhood favourite of mine, “The Secret Garden”. Which knowing my parents was read aloud to me as a child, ergo telling a story. I later read “The Secret Garden” several more times myself. Anyway I do hope you get to tell a story today. Tell one to a child. Believe me they will remember it.

Thanks to Charlie O’Shields at doodlewash.wordpress.com I have a goodly collection of doodlewashes or #doodlewashaday filling my Opus Sketchbook. Please do visit him. I am sure you will be inspired to fill your sketchbook.
Isn’t reading aloud the best? I miss having children around to read to! I think I read this one to my oldest, and I know she re-read it herself as well. Good choice! (K)

I love your book cover, Susan! 💕😄💐 Looks like we were both thinking gardens today! 🌺🌸 Enjoyed hearing about your childhood memories on this book. My favorite was Charlotte’s Web as a child which my mom read to me. 😊
