A snail from the garden was kind enough to let me sketch his home. However he was a little bit shy when it came time for me to do a portrait of him. Fine by me and I was actually thankful he was shy. Lovely! We had snail races in France when my family used to go. We’d put them on the picnic table in lines and watch them move…at a snail’s pace. Snails are so cool! (Good to eat also, with some nice garlic sauce and a baguette). N.

My grandson held a snail race recently. As for eating them I remain skeptical. I will admire them from the outside, for their shells. Those are amazing. Thank you Nina.
