“Dad’s Favourite”, my latest painting is drying on my easel. A little known fact is that I grew hollyhocks in my garden for years just for my Dad. He told me once that they were his favourite flower and that they reminded him of his grandmother and her garden. So here is my tribute to Dad’s favourite flower, the hollyhock. I no longer have a garden to plant the seeds that grow into these lovely old fashioned garden standards, but, I can certainly paint them.
