Happy Place

Play time is art time. A happy place is at the beach. Any beach. The happiest place of all? On our boat. I hope to be spending time on our happiest place of all soon. In the meantime I will paint a beach, any beach will do. Smiling. Artist Susan Feniak. QoR watercolor and ink 8″ x 10″ Fabriano paper.

“Fergus, playtime please.”

Fergus is looking for a little fun time! Won’t you play with him? I had my fun creating him. Cheers Susan. Artist Susan Feniak. QoR watercolor and ink on Fabriano 8″ x 10″ paper. Unframed $30.

#Naturedoodlewash More tenacity!

June 22  Can a walk about Edinburgh castle be considered a Nature walk?  There are grassy bits, gardens and ramparts to walk about on so I hope so.  They have some lovely rose gardens at Edinburgh Castle as well.  My doodlewash today is based on a photo my Aunt took while at Edinburgh Castle.  It speaks volumes to me.  A long since silent battlement is home to a rather tenacious yellow daisy.  Think, a canon used to be fired from that window.  Guns can be silenced.  Peace.

Scene From Our Aft Deck

Happy Fathers Day!!

Another scene from the aft deck of our boat.  Another weekend spent.  This time I share with you a glimpse of our dingy and a look over at the funkiest little angular houseboat you have ever seen.  A challenge to draw.  Why not?

#NatureDoodlewash Salamander

June 7th  Today I am out for a rather quick walk in the woods.  Its been hot here.  As always I like to look all around to see what there is to see.  Looking down I see this little fellow, a salamander.  He seems to be smiling at me from his cool hiding place under a log.  I think he is as surprised to see me as I am to see him.  Soon he disappears under his log.  And I carry on to see what else there is to see…….

#NatureDoodlewash Tenacity!

June 6th Has me on a nature walk along a rocky outcrop.  Even here one must remember to look down and see natures tenacity.  The tiniest mauve flowers cling to rock and life and flourish.

For my first #NatureDoodlewash I brushed the dust off my Elegant Writer Calligraphy pens to get the funky colors and swirls of the rock.  For the flowers I used watercolour pencil and white Gelly Roll.  All on Opus Essentials Sketchbook paper.  By Susan Feniak

Thank you to Charlie O’Shields for inviting us along on #NatureDoodlewash
