#DoodlewashDinner May 12

Lemons!  I finally remembered we needed some lemons for our party!  They will go well with that shrimp and of course the ground salmon wrapped with fillets of sole.  I would like some lemon in my water and the beer that came with pizza night.  Yummy!!  Has anyone brought ice tea yet?  Or lemonade?

#DoodlewashDinner  is a project inspired by Charlie O’Shields over at doolewash.wordpress.com  A month long party of food, he couldn’t go wrong!  My lemons were done on Opus Essentials Sketchbook paper with Neocolor II Caran D’Ache

Weird Bird Wednesday

Today I thought I would join in the fun with Jill’s Art Journal,  artjillkuhn.wordpress.com  ,and her “Weird Bird Wednesday”.  I hope she doesn’t mind but I couldn’t  resist.  May I present to you a real blast from my past, Twit Bird.  circa 1972  And yes he is as dorky as he looks! This couldn’t possibly be a #doodlewashdinner because really one can’t find a bird from ones imagination edible. I hope!

Today is supposed to be Liver and Onions Day.  But because we have been so well behaved around here lately we have opted for pizza.  Long live pizza and beer night!  My home made pizza is almost as infamous as my chocolate chip cookies.  Truly as evil and jumps right off the plate and into your mouth just as easily!!

May 9 #DoodlewashDinner

I have a few minutes to very quickly contribute to  #DoodlewashDinner  today.  Strawberries!  Recently I bought a large basket of strawberries and we have been thoroughly enjoying them for the past several days.  No cake, no biscuits, no angel food cake either.  Being well behaved and healthy by having them with yogurt.  Aren’t we being good?

Happy Mothers Day and Draw A Bird Day

Happy Mothers Day to all!  As it so happens it is the 8th day of the month which means Draw A Bird Day as well.  My present to you on Mothers Day and Draw A Bird Day is my new painting, “Coming In For A Landing”.  The chickadees are at the feeder enjoying their seed or trying to.  Flowers, blossoms and spring greenery abound.   My hope is you all enjoy this special day.  Hugs, Susan

Today I give you my infamous homemade chocolate chip cookies!  Infamous because they are notoriously good.  They jump right off the plate and get into your mouth.  Truly evil.  Over the years I have made thousands of these beauties.  A true family favourite.  Well look at that, there I go eating my props, again!!  Told you they were good.

Here we are again, sitting down to dinner at our house.  In my quest to introduce more fish into our diet let me introduce you to ground salmon wrapped with a fillet of sole. Garnished with fresh dill and parsley from our herb pot.   I have also made you some rice pilaf and broccoli.  Please help yourself to the salad.  Cheers!  Oh darn I have forgotten the fresh lemon wedges.  Pardon me while I go get them!

The lowly peanut butter and jelly sandwich is my featured dinner today.  Ever since I can remember a peanut butter and jelly or honey sandwich along with a glass of milk out of my blue glass has been a staple for me.  With all the peanut allergies out there these days I am afraid I would have starved if it was that way when I was a child!  I simply would not eat anything else.  My parents would treat the family to a restaurant meal and I would ask for a peanut butter sandwich.  It is a family joke.  Honest.  Thankfully I have come a long way since those days but I will still have myself a lovely gooey peanut butter sandwich when nothing else will do.  Oh and the gooey-er the better.  And you don’t ever cut it, one must rip into it and savour.  Yum.

For the love of Apples!  Whether they are a delicious Granny Smith or a scrumptious Royal Gala they are a part of my everyday lunch time meal.  As you can tell in this doodlewash I couldn’t wait to eat one of the apples!  So much for my props!

National Thank Charlie Day for #doodlewashaday

April  30th Could be several things but I am making it, National Thank Charlie Day for letting us take part in his April long #doodlewashaday.  Visit Charlie O’Shields  at doodlewash.wordpress.com  Thank you Charlie!!

I have attached some of my doodlewashes for the month, a collage if you will.  All of my #doodlewashaday were done in my Opus Essentials Sketchbook which really didn’t take too kindly to my slopping water about.  I also used Neocolor Caran D’Ache and Gallery Mungyo Watercolor Crayons, along with Holdbein Artists Water Colors, Pigma Micron Archival Ink along with my Pilot Drawing Pens.  Neither of which like the watercolor crayons but I persisted.  I had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed myself.  I hope you enjoyed the ride.  Cheers Susan Feniak
