Why me?

Why me? That’s what this dog is most likely thinking. Did you as a child ever play dress up with your pet? I remember putting clothes on our black lab, Pal and later a mutt we called Snoopy. Funny how at the time they seemed to play along. Artist Susan Feniak. QoR watercolor and ink on Fabriano paper. This one is matted and will be available at Gallery One Fifty in Sicamous when it opens.

Haven Point Cabin

You are the first to see this one. I finished it this afternoon. Knowing me it could end up with some revisions but for now I am pleased to say “Haven Point Cabin” is done. Those who know my art may remember that I have painted this cabin before. Twice as a matter of fact. But this is a different view and a few years on from my previous attempts. Both of my other versions have found homes so hopefully this one will too. This spot on the Shuswap inspires me. It is another of my happy places. Artist Susan Feniak. Golden acrylics on 16″ x 20″ box canvas painted on all sides. No frame needed. Based on a photo taken by me.

Owl

Taking a cue from Charlie O’Shields of Doodlewash.com new nature sketching stuff activity book I did this owl. There are a lot of sketching and watercolor painting tips, ideas and activities in his book. It is good for any age young and even oldish like me. If you are an experienced artist or want to give art a chance for the first time, give this book a try. Charlie is right we were all born with the ability to draw, color and create art. Owl created by me, artist Susan Feniak. Watercolor and ink on Strathmore card stock.

Mara Morning (revised)

Mara Morning is now on display and for sale at Three Buoys Marina and Storage in Sicamous. This is the view from our houseboat. We think that we are very fortunate. That being said we have worked hard for a very long time to be this fortunate. I hope you enjoy our view as much as we do. Artist Susan Feniak. Acrylic on Canvas framed 24″×30″. $250

Contemplation

Contemplation. If you don’t know me or my art you won’t know I rarely paint people. In fact I can’t remember the last time I tackled a selfie let lone another person. In my world that makes this painting special. The sunset adds to the contemplative moment I tried to capture here. Artist Susan Feniak. Koi watercolour on 8″×10″ Fabriano paper.

Hanging Around

Hanging Around is more about reflections and the Blue Heron then anything else. A busy weekend working on assorted projects aboard our boat but I still managed to sneak in art time. Thankful for a thoughtful husband who let’s me be me. Which is hang around messing about with my watercolors, brushes and papers. Hope you had a lovely weekend too.

Happy Elephant

Another one of my cards ready for the summer art show and sell season. Everyone of my cards are original, one of a kind, watercolor and ink, on Strathmore card stock. The buyer can send them or frame them. Sometimes a hard choice. I haven’t been able to part with several. For instance Henry the dog is staying in my home. Along with a flamingo or two. Hope you like this happy young elephant.
