New art! A watercolor this time. This is big for me, especially when it comes to working with watercolors. I had a vague idea of what I wanted to create. I didn’t draw anything, I just started to paint. My first of a few mistakes was that I chose the wrong background color. With perseverance and an arsenal of supplies I ended up with this painting as the result. There is everything on there from gouache to Daniel Smith, QoR, Derwent watercolor pencils, watercolor crayons, salt, you name it. At one point I even had my oil pastels out. There came the classic moment, am I done or not? Maybe? I had a blast, especially splattering and playing with a hake brush. Hope it pleases your eye.

Happy New Year! Wishing you all a happy, healthy and creative 2021. Let’s be positive.
This is a “selfie” of me. I don’t like getting my photo taken nor do I do selphies well. They are something I will rarely share.
The other photo is my “Top Nine” posts on Instagram in 2020. Not my choices but Instagram’s. Interesting and somewhat surprising. I was happy to see my personal favorite “Shine On” a.k.a. Trudy Tortuga made the list. Amazed my watercolors and ink were as popular as they are. Go figure.
Moving on to new projects and I am hopeful the year ahead will be better. Surely being positive will see us through. Cheers Susan
That’s right. I am THAT person that will remind you that Christmas is coming by posting my card designs for 2020. BTW Christmas is coming. There is no avoiding it so we should embrace it. It may just be that something that perks us all up. Goodness knows we can all use some happy these days. My cards are all individually hand painted one of a kind originals. I do not make prints so you won’t see boxes full of them any where. Hope to make you smile today. Cheers Susan

Yet another revision and more tweaking and I think that I can call this one done. But you never know. “Dock Time” is the view we enjoy from the forward deck of our boat. I have taken some liberties with the scene and ignored the peripheral mess or mass of details like condos, other marinas, docks, pilings and more. Instead I have focused on this cluster of boats on the dock at Three Buoys Marina on the channel in Sicamous. The Bruhn Bridge and train bridge are in the distance. Enjoy. Cheers Susan Feniak. Acrylic on 20″ x 20″ x 1.5″ canvas. Asking $250.

These are the commissions I worked on last week. Although small every piece counts. Every piece is important. Someone thought highly enough of my art to ask me to make them something special for someone else. Thank you. I hope the recipients enjoy them as much as I did in the creating. Cheers Susan Feniak
