#WorldWatercolorMonth Days 8 and 9. “Wing” and Gnarled”. The photos speak for themselves. I am combining the two into one because I was a tad busy yesterday. The lack of internet and time does affect one’s ability to keep up with this month long celebration of watercolor art. Artist Susan Feniak. QoR watercolors and Pixma Micron ink on Strathmore card stock. 4″ x 6″. Cheers Susan
It’s paint a bird day a.k.a. draw a bird day. Sooo I decided to post an old one of mine. We saw this stunning Macaw while in Antigua several years ago. Of course I had to do its portrait. Hope you have enjoyed your paint a bird day and are staying warm and dry. Cheers Susan Feniak
For Draw a bird day I present the Show Off! I haven’t contributed to draw a bird day for an age so thought I would this month. The 8th day of every month is for draw a bird day. Hope you have an unruffled kind of day. Cheers Susan. QoR watercolor and ink on Fabriano 5.5″ x 8.5″ paper.
If you were wondering what’s next, no worries. I knew all along. It had to be Flamingos. The perfect follow up to Christmas elephants and giraffes. It is snowing where I live today so I had to think of warmer places. These two helped. Artist Susan Feniak. Original art using Koi watercolour on Strathmore card stock.
The prompt on June 8th “Seagull” is also appropriate for #drawabirdday. Very convenient. My gull has spotted something to scrounge. I am sure. Original art by Susan Feniak. QOR water color on Strathmore Paper. 6″×6″
May 8th “Feathery”. A rooster has spectacular plumage to show off. Here is a splendid specimen strutting his stuff. I got so carried away with his feathers his feet aren’t in the picture. Original art by Susan Feniak. QOR water color on Strathmore cold press paper. 6″×6″.
Hello to all my WP friends! I have been missing in action, even missing December’s Draw a Bird Day!! LIFE!! Today I have a moment to present a select few of my bird paintings for 2016. All are original art, by Susan Feniak. Acrylic or water colour. I hope this finds everyone having a marvelous December. Hopefully I can get back to my art and blogging regularly soon. Cheers. PEACE
#WorldWatercolorGroup, #Draw a Bird Day, November 8. “Mallard Duckling” original art by Susan Feniak. The WorldWatercolorGroup prompt for today was actually “Cappuccinos”. Since I am not a coffee junkie I opted for Draw A Bird Day instead. This duckling is a Mallard. My inspiration is from a photo by Bill McMullen that I found in a Canadian Wildlife Federation calendar that arrived at our door this past week.
Holbein Artists Water Color, Faber-Castell artist PITT pen, on Canson Mix Media Paper.
A Belize Gull. They look the same as any other Gull! This one posed for me so I knew I had to paint him.
This can be my #WorldWatercolorGroup contribution for the day too.
Original art by Susan Feniak. Koi watercolors on Strathmore 140lb cold press paper
Blue Heron June 8th Its time for #Draw A Bird Day again so I am combining it with #NatureDoodlewash for the day. The Blue Heron speaks for himself. An elegant and normally shy elusive bird this one liked to visit us while at our marina in Sicamous a couple of summers ago. I have been meaning to do his portrait ever since.
This #Draw A Bird Day and #NatureDoodlewash is on Strathmore watercolor paper and painted with Holbein Artists’ Water Color. Original art by Susan Feniak
