Latest project…Morning Breaks

“Morning Breaks”

I completed my latest project today. Photo credit and inspiration goes to my very talented Aunt Helen Worley ❤️ Thank you so much for letting me use your amazing photo. This is a sunrise and cloud fan over Semiahmoo spit with Mount Baker in the background. Semiahmoo is in northwest Washington state. My Aunt Helen named the painting “Morning Breaks”. Happily this painting also immediately sold 🔴 to my aunt the photographer. Thank you again ❤️

Artist Susan Feniak, acrylic on a 24″ x 24″ deep gallery canvas. SOLD

“Flat Bottom Gals”

Flat Bottom Gals

“Flat Bottom Gals” is my latest acrylic painting on a 20″ x 20″ gallery canvas. A string of boats waiting for hire. Colorful, bright and cheerful. Hard to resist. I couldn’t resist the name I gave to this painting either. It’s fun too. We can all use a bit of happy these days. Right?

This painting started as a completely different idea and morphed into this. I am glad this is how it goes. One never knows where the idea or paint brushes will go…nor where ones imagination will take them.

If you are interested in this painting please message me at sfeniakart@gmail.com I am asking $250 cdn plus shipping . It’s original and I do not make copies or prints of my art.

Building Storm

Evening Stormy Sky

The sky fascinates me. I could watch it and the ocean forever. This time my imagination has tried to capture a storm building over the ocean with the sun setting behind the thunderheads. This provides a plethora of color and light effects. Not to mention the layers of cloud and reflections. This one was fun to paint. I let my imagination go and that is always enjoyable.

Although this is my imagination and original work, I was influenced to create this scene by an article in the March 2022 PleinAir Magazine. The article is about artist Lisa Grossman titled Adventures In Skywatching.

New smallish seascape…

A new smallish seascape drying on my easel. It’s acrylic on an 11″ x 14″ gallery canvas. The sea continues to inspire me and probably always will.

Artist Susan Feniak. Golden Artist Acrylics on canvas. 🔴 SOLD Thank you.

Seaside Idyll

Seaside Idyll is the tentative title for my latest painting. The photos are of my process and progress for the painting. For my inspiration I used an image taken by a friend of mine. Unfortunately she can’t remember where she took the shot. I do know it was taken somewhere in the pacific north west. Possibly a view from an area around or near Vancouver BC looking towards Vancouver Island in the distance or vice-versa. Regardless I found it an interesting view. When I spotted the 12″ x 36″ canvas I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. FYI This particular size of canvas is very difficult to get a good photo of!

The start to a seascape..

I have made a good start to another seascape. It has become apparent to me that I am happiest painting larger pieces and water. This after trying to increase my small pieces inventory. I will finish this one and get back to the smaller works. Having a good variety to share with everyone is important, collectors, purchasers, venues and all.

Art, art everywhere…

Art, art everywhere and barely room to sit! My poor husband thinks that he lives in an art gallery. Fingers crossed that a venue opens near here soon so that I can show and sell some of my creations. Artist Susan Feniak. All are original art, and acrylics on gallery canvas. If not framed they are painted on all sides and are various sizes and prices. If you are interested please message me sfeniakart@gmail.com Cheers Susan

“Musing”

Musing

“Musing”. I am declaring this one done. My imagination was at play with this painting. Musing or daydreaming about a warm sunny place. A place to brighten any dull Canadian winter day. Artist Susan Feniak. Acrylic on a 24″ x 30″ gallery canvas. Asking $450. This is an original piece of art. I do not make copies or prints. If you are interested please email sfeniakart@gmail.com Thank you.

Work or play? A new painting gets a start….

Work or play? My newest in progress painting is on the easel. I am having fun playing with the light on the water and in the sky. As a rule, after the ground or base coat, I start from the furthest point away, usually the sky, and work my way forward. Right or wrong? I don’t know, it’s just how I’ve always done it. My imagination is working overtime on this one. This is also one of the biggest paintings I have done.
