Behind but….

Days have gone by and I haven’t posted my #World Watercolor Month work. I have been participating but without internet it gets complicated. Here are a few of the cards I have been making this year for #worldwatercolormonth2022

Artist Susan Feniak. QoR watercolors and ink on Strathmore card stock. 4″ x 6″

Happy Mothers Day

My sincerest wishes for a Happy Mothers Day! A special hug to my Mum. I made my Mum’s card bright and cheerful this year so that she could see it. And “Fidelma” flamingo helped Mr Stork recently. A very special Happy 1st Mothers Day to the new Mom.

Both of these cards are watercolor and ink on Strathmore watercolor cards 4″ x 6″. They are hand painted, original and one of a kind, by me Susan Feniak

New Watercolor “Spring’s Bounty”

“Spring’s Bounty”

New art! “Spring’s Bounty” A watercolor this time. This is big for me, especially when it comes to working with watercolors. I had a vague idea of what I wanted to create. I didn’t draw anything, I just started to paint. My first of a few mistakes was that I chose the wrong background color. With perseverance and an arsenal of supplies I ended up with this painting as the result. There is everything on there from gouache to Daniel Smith, QoR, Derwent watercolor pencils, watercolor crayons, salt, you name it. At one point I even had my oil pastels out. There came the classic moment, am I done or not? Maybe? I had a blast, especially splattering and playing with a hake brush. Hope it pleases your eye.

World Watercolor Month 2020 Day 16

World Watercolor Month Day 16 prompt “Machine”. This prompt got me thinking of simpler times before mechanization. Of being a child and being care free. Ripping up and down a street on a scooter came to mind. A pretty red scooter with tassels and everything. Oh the joy! Day 15 World Watercolor Month

Day 15 World Watercolor Month and the prompt is monochromatic. I decided to paint a great Blue Heron in a monochromatic foggy morning environment.

Happy Elephant

SOLD Another one of my cards ready for the summer art show and sell season. Everyone of my cards are original, one of a kind, watercolor and ink, on Strathmore card stock. The buyer can send them or frame them. Sometimes a hard choice. I haven’t been able to part with several. For instance Henry the dog is staying in my home. Along with a flamingo or two. Hope you like this happy young elephant.

“Spring Tulips”

Spring Tulips. Artist Susan Feniak. QoR Watercolor on Strathmore Vision paper. 9″ x 12″. Officially Spring begins around 3 p.m. today. These tulips are my homage to that momentous event. I hadn’t played with my watercolors for ages and it felt like I had become a tad rusty. I better find more time to practice. Unframed $30.
