I am still keeping busy creating my “one of a kind” greeting cards. Keeping things simple. Other than puttindg a coat of gesso on a 24″ x 24″ canvas I haven’t spent any time at my easel. Not since coming home from Mexico. I haven’t felt like it. I thought that I had lots of inspiration and was ready to get busy but as soon as I stand at my easel all is lost. Perhaps I have a bit of a block happening? On the other hand I am able to create these cards. A veritable plethora of them. I am having fun with them, they make me smile. That is sufficient, for now.

Belated happy Easter! Theodore the Easter dog appeared on one of my card creations the otherday. I meant to post Theodore on all my social media sites but somehow missed my website. Having fun creating cards. Especially the dogs! The dogs are loosely based on works by artist Catherine Rayner. I am fortunate to have my art. Since I started painting in 2009 it’s always gotten me through the tuff times in life. This week I found solace once again. Like taking small steps everyday to move on I started with small things like cards. I then moved onto a bigger canvas. World Watercolor Month Days 28 and 29. I invited my old friends to join me in the festivities. “Ollie” was the first to arrive. I hope “Gretchen” arrives soon.
We are in the midst of a heatwave here in BC but that hasn’t deterred the flowers from thriving. While out for my walks I have been spotting all manner of beauties, including black eyed susan’s. Thankfully not my namesake but I recently did have two black eyes from a bad fall. Good thing I heal quickly.
