My Pink Pond Lilies

Finished! As soon as I saw these two beauties in my pond this summer I knew I was going to have to put them onto canvas.  These days there hasn’t been enough time to enjoy being happy at my easel.  Today I made that time to play.  The overwhelming need for something beautiful and good in my life and the urge to escape into painting la la land overtook me.  It felt good and I think the end result shows. $200.00 plus shipping and handling will get you this painting!

    Wow! Pretty in pink, methinks. The things that stand out for me is your rich darks work well against that bright pink and I am really drawn to that reflection where the petals appear almost white, Nice use of contrast and composition, Susan.

    I understand what you mean by “escaping”. When painting, time goes by and we are somewhere else..love the translucent nature of the reflected leaves…you’ve got the water looking good too..waiting to see your next one.
