National Tartan Day #doodlewashaday

April 6th brings National Tartan Day, or, and I quote, “National Sorry Charlie Day”.  Sorry Charlie but I opted for Tartan.  Since my ancestors are mainly from Scotland and Ireland and I have been to Scotland three times I have a bit of an affinity with tartans.  Here I have doodlewashed two of my ancestral Clan MacLeod tartans, MacLeod of Harris and MacLeod of Lewis and Raasay.  My favourite would be MacLeod of Skye.  I could go on about Scotland but I will spare you.

Original art by Susan Feniak  Neocolor Caran D’Ache on Opus Essentials Sketchbook paper.

Hope you are having as much fun following along as I am doing a  #doodlewashaday     Visit Charlie O’Shields at doodlewash.wordpress.com  he is the instigator of this.  He might just convince you to doodlewash!!

  5. LOL! I love it! I have a scarf the same color scheme as the one on the right. I was in Scotland back in 1990. It was so beautiful, I’d be happy to go back again. Hubby has a bit of Scot in his background (but he’s mostly Irish and German)…little enough of a bit that he won’t wear a kilt. 😉
