“The Nest”

“The Nest” Original art by Susan Feniak. #WorldWatercolorGroup.   I really enjoyed creating this trio of barn swallows at home in their mud nest.  I can only imagine the cacophony whilst they wait for the parents to arrive with food to fill those wide open mouths.  Have a wonderful day.  Cheers! PEACE

#WorldWatercolorGroup “Beets”

20161116_134933#WorldWatercolorGroup  November 17th “Beets”  I posted this from my phone this morning and it never showed up on my reader, so, here I am reposting….  The prompt for today, beets.  I like to eat both the bottom and the top.  And homemade pickled beets are a favourite of mine.  Thank goodness we are sketching veggies the last couple of days.  All the delicious cakes and pastries that everyone was creating were making me fat just looking at them!!  Cheers. PEACE

#WorldWatercolorGroup “Brussels Sprouts”

20161116_111416#WorldWatercolorGroup  November 16th “Brussels Sprouts”.  I rarely if ever cook these babies.  You may ask, why?  And I will answer, I have a  husband that refers to them as noxious green golf balls.  These days to get Brussels Sprouts into our diet I grate them into salads.  No one notices that.  Cheers!  PEACE

#WorldWatercolorGroup “Bundt Cakes”

20161115_135943#WorldWatercolorGroup November 15th  The prompt for today was “Bundt Cakes”.  Original art by Susan Feniak.  Holbein Artists Water Color on Canson 140lb cold press water color paper.  I have never actually made a Bundt cake or eaten one.  Here is hoping I managed to sketch a close enough representation.  Cheers.  PEACE

#WorldWatercolorGroup “Pickles”

20161114_124213#WorldWatercolorGroup  November 14th “Pickles”.  My mind immediately went to dill pickles when I saw the prompt for today.  Simply because it brought back memories of making our oldest son 52 quarts of homemade dill pickles every summer.  All made with cucumbers, dill and garlic fresh from our garden.  With two growing boys I canned and froze everything I could get my hands on!  A favorite of our oldest was my dills and he ate everyone of them.  Cheers. PEACE

#WorldWatercolorGroup “Celery”

20161113_135412#WorldWatercolorGroup  November 13th.  The prompt for today, “Celery”.  I was short of time today and I was rather uninspired by the subject matter, celery.  So why not draw something I feel the need of?  An alcoholic drink with a stalk of celery in it.  See me enjoying a relaxing moment now??  Cheers!  PEACE

#WorldWatercolorGroup “Cupcakes”

#WorldWatercolorGroup  “Cupcakes” November 10th.  Original art by Susan Feniak. Okay, so strawberry swirl icing on chocolate cupcakes will do.  But if these cupcakes were really meant for me they would be chocolate with mocha frosting.  Just saying.  It would seem someone thought they were irresistible.  Could that have been me? Cheers.  PEACE

#WorldWatercolorGroup “Carrots”

20161109_100627#WorldWatercolorGroup  November 9th.  The prompt for today, “Carrots”.  I know the best carrots are straight from ones own garden.  The baby carrots that you pull yourself and immediately take over to the garden hose to rinse off.  Then you munch on them to your hearts content.  Sweet and crunchy.  Warm from the earth.  All the while a smile on your face.  Hey you grew them yourself.  Now days I can only remember that sensation because I have to buy my carrots at the local grocer’s or farmer’s market.  Some how its always better if that bunch of carrots still has a little dirt on them.  Cheers.  PEACE.

#WorldWatercolorGroup #Draw a Bird Day

20161108_123054

#WorldWatercolorGroup, #Draw a Bird Day, November 8. “Mallard Duckling” original art by Susan Feniak.  The WorldWatercolorGroup prompt for today was actually  “Cappuccinos”.  Since I am not a coffee junkie I opted for Draw A Bird Day instead.  This duckling is a Mallard.  My inspiration is from a photo by Bill McMullen that I found in a Canadian Wildlife Federation calendar that arrived at our door this past week.
