A Nice Day For A Walk

I did add some Canada Geese flying in formation but I have not taken another photo of the painting. It was a nice day for a walk along the nature trail in Salmon Arm Bay. The biggest water colour I have tackled to date. At the moment I am not sure if this one is finished or not. I don’t want to over work it. Usually I am happy or pleased with the end product. Perhaps its because this is a water colour that has me doubting. It has been fun playing and spending time at my easel.
Original art by Susan Feniak Staedtler water colour pencils and Holbein water colours on 18” x 24” Strathmore water colour paper.
Hi Susan,
This painting looks so peaceful. I can almost hear those cat tails rustling in a gentle breeze. Good one!

Such an important lesson to know when to stop. I still often look at work and wish that I had stopped before I did. Nice work! ~Rita

Yes it is a hard lesson to learn. Especially when one is out of their comfort zone. Watercolors challenge me and this was a big one too. Thank you Rita. 🙂

If there was a gadget to tell you when your picture was done or, if you would only make it worse by continuing, I’d buy it! Good luck deciding Susan, a quandary I often have!

Yes that is an illusive gadget. It is such a quandary. Paint more and risk messing it up or leave it as is. Done is a welcome answer. Thanks for stopping by.

I say it’s done! The cattails give it depth. Very nicely done Susan.

Beautiful work Susan, I also like the cattails – they added a wonderful element of interest and giving more distance.
