Today I got some new toys in the mail from my favourite art store Opus. Of course I had to play! I did the entire painting with the new brush a, Limited Edition Opus Allegro size 24. FUN!! “Three Colours” Taking a cue from a fellow blogger, Jodi, Creative Life in Between, I used only three colors to create this painting. Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Red, and Cadmium Yellow. Wow, going back to the basics was FUN! Original art by Susan Feniak. On Canson Aquarelle 9″×12″ paper.

“Pansy Chain” Original art by Susan Feniak. Experimenting and imagining….
Imagine if you will, a warm sunny day, a picnic basket, a blanket spread on the green grass and the time to do the more pleasurable things in life like make a flower chain. Can you smell that green grass? Hear the birds sing? Told you I was imagining. The experimenting? Well this painting sat on my easel for an age. I started it, left it, tweaked it, left it and then I decided to experiment. I had fun playing with different materials that included spray on glue and tissue paper. Now you can imagine what kind of mess I got myself into. But no worries, its all about the fun!!

A lot of texturing, splattering and generally good old messy fun ensued while creating this ray of sunshine on a January day. It has been awhile since I painted anything.
