“Anfractuous”. Truly a labor of love, this painting is complete and drying on my easel. If you look up the meaning of the word anfractuous, you will understand why I gave this painting that name. I hope you like it. Cheers Susan Feniak.
Artist Susan Feniak. Acrylic on 18″ x 24″ gallery canvas, painted on all sides. This painting is officially SOLD.
I had so much fun creating my last painting that I decided to do another floral piece. It helps that I have a beautiful bunch of sunflowers sitting on our table to inspire me. After this, I think that I will be finished with florals for awhile. It will be time for something else. I hope you enjoy my progress reports….
Artist Susan Feniak. Acrylic on an 18″ x 24″ gallery canvas. This one will be available when finished.
“Splendiferous”, is my latest painting and is still drying on my easel. With these photos I am showing you the different stages of my process and progress. All were posted on my Instagram and Facebook accounts. #susanseasel Luckily for me “Splendiferous” sold within 1/2 hour of my posting it on my Facebook feed. Thank you to the purchaser who happens to be a collector of my art. For the first time ever I gessoed over a painting that I started earlier this summer. I can’t explain it, I have never lost interest in a painting before. I didn’t know what to do. It’s not like me to loose interest in a painting. That being said there have been many extenuating circumstances that probably caused me to loose that interest. It’s been a ruff and tumble summer for us. Am I ever glad I did what I did. Lesson learned. This painting is a far better one than the original and I was in a far happier space creating it.
Artist Susan Feniak. Acrylic on a 20″ x 20″ gallery canvas. Already, SOLD.
Just finished another 10″ x 10″ painting. Small by my standard. These are the progress photos and the final painting. I decided to leave the background white. Maybe it’s the start of a new trend? The title is “Yellow Maze”. If you were interested in purchasing this painting you are too late as it SOLD almost immediately. Thank you to the purchaser. Selling art has been a tuff slog this summer as venues have been few and far between. I am fortunate to have sold anything. As always I am grateful to have someone like my art enough to hang in their home and personal space. Cheers Susan

Finished and drying on my easel, “Catharsis”. Purple Cone Flower or Echinacea. Although small this painting is symbolic to me on many levels. I am sending positive thoughts and healing vibes to my family in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
After weeks of drought, wildfires, ash and smoke we finally got rain. It was pure joy to go outside this morning and take in big breathes of fresher cleaner air. The fires are far from being extinguished or even under control but it is a reprieve. Thank you to the firefighters, helicopter and waterbomber crews, volunteers and behind the scene workers like mechanics that keep everything running. We are grateful to all who have been working endless hours trying to keep us safe.

I am thrilled to say that three of my paintings were juried into The Federation of Canadian Artists Curated online Show July and August. This is a big step in the right direction for me. I entered my work some time ago and by the time I learned that all three had been accepted Waves Brilliant Dance had sold. Ergo I had to withdraw that painting. Overseer and Tulip Glow are still available for sale in show. To see the online show try http://www.artists.ca or http://www.federationgallery.com I have a link on my Facebook page as well.
It’s almost time for the annual arts and crafts sale at The Red Barn Arts Center in Sicamous BC. I will have four paintings in the show this year along with several of my “one of a kind” hand painted greeting cards. If you are anywhere near Sicamous June 29th thru July 4th, please take the time to pop by and have a look. It’s well worth your time and effort. It is your chance to purchase from and support the many very talented artists and artisans of the Shuswap area. Cheers Susan Feniak
