#NatureDoodlewash Salamander

June 7th  Today I am out for a rather quick walk in the woods.  Its been hot here.  As always I like to look all around to see what there is to see.  Looking down I see this little fellow, a salamander.  He seems to be smiling at me from his cool hiding place under a log.  I think he is as surprised to see me as I am to see him.  Soon he disappears under his log.  And I carry on to see what else there is to see…….

#NatureDoodlewash Tenacity!

June 6th Has me on a nature walk along a rocky outcrop.  Even here one must remember to look down and see natures tenacity.  The tiniest mauve flowers cling to rock and life and flourish.

For my first #NatureDoodlewash I brushed the dust off my Elegant Writer Calligraphy pens to get the funky colors and swirls of the rock.  For the flowers I used watercolour pencil and white Gelly Roll.  All on Opus Essentials Sketchbook paper.  By Susan Feniak

Thank you to Charlie O’Shields for inviting us along on #NatureDoodlewash

More Sketches From Our Aft Deck

Another weekend of boating enjoyed.  While hubby naps I get time for art.  Here I have sketched our girl (ours is the black and white one) and one of the boats tied up across from us at the marina.  Lots of challenging angles and curves to tackle not to mention perspective.  Hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Cheers Susan

Yellow Lily

Tulips or Lily’s seem to be very popular these days so I thought I would try my hand at painting a “Yellow Lily”.  A bright and cheery flower which I have been enjoying a bouquet of for several days.

Scenes from the aft deck

Hi,  Just back from another soggy boating weekend.  That being said it was a lovely relaxing and away from work kind of weekend.  I even took time for some quick sketches.  The following are scenes from our aft deck.  Hope your weekend has been dryer then ours.

The sketches were done with my travel watercolours on my small moleskin.  Cheers, Susan

#DoodlewashDinner May 25th Wine Day

It has been brought to my attention that there is a bit of a problem at our party.  A shortage of wine.  I have been known to be a problem solver and the shortage may be due mainly because I wouldn’t share my wine last week.  I have decided to make up for the shortfall by bringing a box of wine to our #DoodlewashDinner.   It is National Wine Day, so why not?  Lets celebrate!  Problem solved right?  Wait a minute, it would seem the red wine drinkers may have a complaint now.  Oh dear.

My #DoodlewashDinner  today was done as per usual on Opus Essentials Sketchbook with Neocolor II Caran D’Ache  by me Susan Feniak  I have tried not to infringe on any copyright or trademarks.  I must say it is an excellent wine and very much enjoyed at this house.  Even out of a box.

Thank you once again to Charlie O’Shields at doodlewash.wordpress.com for making this another fun month of doodlewashing.

#Selfie Art Day “Susan Abstracted”

original art by Susan Feniak  Neocolor II Caran D’Ache on Opus Finest Watercolour Pad 7 1/2” x 11”   May 25 2016 #Selfie Art Day!  And now for something completely different, an abstracted version of me.  I believe I am in a quandary or have a query as to how the name Susan translates to,  “Suzy Q”.  I have never really cared one way or the other but prefer Susan.

#DoodlewashDinner May 24th 2016

Escargot!  May 24th is set aside for snails.  Of the eatable variety.  Since I can not make myself eat them I have decided to bring to the table a rather idealistic version.   If they smile at you can you eat them?  Being a gardener you would think I would despise these guys.  I have been known to toss them over the fence to be rid of them but eat them? Not.

I have been absent of late.  Work has called me away from the table.  This #DoodlewashDinner is done on Opus Essentials Sketchbook with Neocolor II Caran D’Ache and Gallery Mungyo Watercolor Crayons by Susan Feniak

#DoodlewashDinner May 17th

Today I am bringing to the table my favourite bottle of wine.  And my biggest glass.  So be careful there may not be enough to go around!  I do share but within reason!!  Because I am not sure if I should post name brands I will keep myself out of trouble by hinting at its name with the design of the label.  That being said I am sure they wouldn’t mind a little free advertising.  It is a delicious wine with a citrus flavour that only New Zealand can provide.  Cheers!  Susan

#DoodlewashDinner Barbecue Day!

May 16 Is barbecue day and as it so happens our house guest has asked for barbecue.  Lucky coincidence I should say!!  We are happy to oblige with a barbecued home made beef patty with lettuce, cheese, tomato and a beauty of a pickle served up on a big gooey bun.  Looks good enough to eat.
