#DoodlewashDinner May 4

The lowly peanut butter and jelly sandwich is my featured dinner today.  Ever since I can remember a peanut butter and jelly or honey sandwich along with a glass of milk out of my blue glass has been a staple for me.  With all the peanut allergies out there these days I am afraid I would have starved if it was that way when I was a child!  I simply would not eat anything else.  My parents would treat the family to a restaurant meal and I would ask for a peanut butter sandwich.  It is a family joke.  Honest.  Thankfully I have come a long way since those days but I will still have myself a lovely gooey peanut butter sandwich when nothing else will do.  Oh and the gooey-er the better.  And you don’t ever cut it, one must rip into it and savour.  Yum.

#DoodlewashDinner May 2

May 2 Hooray hooray its May!!  Charlie O’Shields at doodlewash.wordpress.com has invited us to #DoodlewashDinner this month.  So be prepared for a food fest for the eyes!  Last evening at our place we partook of Grilled stuffed Pork Tenderloin and fresh local asparagus.  I don’t know about you but to me my glass of wine seems a tad small!  Hope you are having a great Monday!  Cheers, Susan

April  30th Could be several things but I am making it, National Thank Charlie Day for letting us take part in his April long #doodlewashaday.  Visit Charlie O’Shields  at doodlewash.wordpress.com  Thank you Charlie!!

I have attached some of my doodlewashes for the month, a collage if you will.  All of my #doodlewashaday were done in my Opus Essentials Sketchbook which really didn’t take too kindly to my slopping water about.  I also used Neocolor Caran D’Ache and Gallery Mungyo Watercolor Crayons, along with Holdbein Artists Water Colors, Pigma Micron Archival Ink along with my Pilot Drawing Pens.  Neither of which like the watercolor crayons but I persisted.  I had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed myself.  I hope you enjoyed the ride.  Cheers Susan Feniak

National Pigs In A Blanket Day #doodlewashaday

April 24th Brings me back from a couple of days off and smiling because my pig in a blanket isn’t what he is supposed to be!  Sausages wrapped in pastry, although yummy aren’t as much fun to draw as a piglet wearing a blanket.  What can I say?

National Garlic Day #doodlewashaday

April 19th Yay! Its National Garlic Day!  Yes I am excited because I love to cook and I love garlic.  If you were to be invited to our home for supper we would hope you liked garlic too.  Because if everyone eats it we can bare the after effects!  Our local farmers grow some of the finest flavourful garlic.  Anticipation for harvest time mounts!!

National Cheeseball Day #doodlewashaday

Yes April 17th is set aside for Cheeseballs!  It was either that or Bat Appreciation Day.  Don’t get me wrong I have absolutely nothing against bats.  Its also Haiku Poetry Day.  I could muster up a Haiku but having time to illustrate it too?  So here you have a cheese board, cheese knife, cheeseball and crackers.  Snack time!!  Enjoy!

National Orchid Day #doodlewashaday

April 16th Is National Orchid Day!  Here I have doodlewashed a white Phalaenopsis.  Being a retired or X florist I used to love working with orchids in bridal bouquets.  For many years there was always one growing and blooming in my kitchen.  Lately I have noticed orchids have become very popular and I am seeing them every where and in varied colors.  Not such a bad thing as they last for ages and make wonderful cut flowers.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend!  Cheers, Susan

National Dolphin Day #doodlewashaday

April 14th I am celebrating National Dolphin Day! Why wouldn’t I?  This happy fellow could make even the grumpiest person smile.  They are one of the most endearing creatures and our world is better off because of them.  I couldn’t even tell you what other National Day this is.  As soon as I saw Dolphin I was done.

Draw A Bird Day and #doodlewashaday

original art by Susan Feniak  Neocolor Caran D’Ache, Gallery Mungyo Watercolor Crayons, Holbein Artist Water Colors, Pigma Micron Archival Ink on Canson Mix Media paper.

April 8th  Today instead of doing a National Day I have drawn a bird for Draw A Bird Day.  This youngster is a juvenile Steller’s Jay.  I couldn’t resist such a cute fuzzy character.  (I plucked the imagine from the internet and have no idea who to give credit to for the photo.)  Its been a busy week here at my work desk and easel.  Time for a breather.  Have yourselves a grand weekend.  I am looking forward to seeing all the birdie drawings and posts from my WP friends.  Cheers, Susan

Thank you to Kerfe and Nina at https://methodtwomadness.wordpress.com for hosting Draw A Bird Day again this month.

Thank you to Charlie O’Shields at doodlewash.wordpress.com for #doodlewashaday
