#WorldWatercolorMonth “Little Worrier”

IMG_20160711_082951#WorldWatercolorMonth “Little Worrier”  I found myself wondering what to paint for todays post around 2 a.m.  A silly time to be wondering such things I know but this is me we are talking about.  Meet Little Miss Worrier!  She is the first dog I have ever painted.  Happy Monday! Peace.

#WorldWatercolorMonth “Time For Tummy Tickles”

IMG_20160705_135754#WorldWatercolorMonth July 6  “Time For Tummy Tickles”  A shortage of time today has me visiting the Hedge Hog family again.  This wee fellow wanted some tummy tickles.  I can hear him giggling.

#WorldWatercolorMonth original art by Susan Feniak  Holbein Artists’ Water Color on Canson Mix Media 7″ x 10″ paper.  I also used Faber Castell Pitt artist pens, black and indian red. These are new toys I am looking forward to experimenting more with.

My thanks go out to Charlie O’Shields at Doodlewash.com for putting all kinds of time and effort into making this month special for all of us water color enthusiasts.

#WorldWatercolorMonth Tortuga

#WorldWatercolorMonth July 5th  Today I am swimming with a sea turtle or as I like to say a Tortuga.  I really have been lucky enough to actually swim with a couple of them.  Careful, don’t touch them, just watch.  They have such grace and presence.  I will remember the pleasure forever.

#Draw A Bird Day and #NatureDoodlewash

Blue Heron  June 8th  Its time for #Draw A Bird Day again so I am combining it with #NatureDoodlewash for the day.  The Blue Heron speaks for himself.  An elegant and normally shy elusive bird this one liked to visit us while at our marina in Sicamous a couple of summers ago.  I have been meaning to do his portrait ever since.

This #Draw A Bird Day and #NatureDoodlewash  is on Strathmore watercolor paper and painted with Holbein Artists’ Water Color.  Original art by Susan Feniak

Yellow Lily

Tulips or Lily’s seem to be very popular these days so I thought I would try my hand at painting a “Yellow Lily”.  A bright and cheery flower which I have been enjoying a bouquet of for several days.

Happy Mothers Day and Draw A Bird Day

Happy Mothers Day to all!  As it so happens it is the 8th day of the month which means Draw A Bird Day as well.  My present to you on Mothers Day and Draw A Bird Day is my new painting, “Coming In For A Landing”.  The chickadees are at the feeder enjoying their seed or trying to.  Flowers, blossoms and spring greenery abound.   My hope is you all enjoy this special day.  Hugs, Susan

April  30th Could be several things but I am making it, National Thank Charlie Day for letting us take part in his April long #doodlewashaday.  Visit Charlie O’Shields  at doodlewash.wordpress.com  Thank you Charlie!!

I have attached some of my doodlewashes for the month, a collage if you will.  All of my #doodlewashaday were done in my Opus Essentials Sketchbook which really didn’t take too kindly to my slopping water about.  I also used Neocolor Caran D’Ache and Gallery Mungyo Watercolor Crayons, along with Holdbein Artists Water Colors, Pigma Micron Archival Ink along with my Pilot Drawing Pens.  Neither of which like the watercolor crayons but I persisted.  I had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed myself.  I hope you enjoyed the ride.  Cheers Susan Feniak

National Tell A Story Day #doodlewashaday

April 27th  Today is National Tell A Story Day.  I could have chosen several other options among them Prime Rib Day.  Because I am not much of a story teller I thought I would bring your attention to reading a story instead.  If you read a book aloud doesn’t it then become telling a story?  I think so.   Therefore I have doodlewashed  the possible jacket cover for a book that was a particular childhood favourite of mine, “The Secret Garden”.  Which knowing my parents was read aloud to me as a child, ergo telling a story.  I later read “The Secret Garden” several more times myself.  Anyway I do hope you get to tell a story today.  Tell one to a child.  Believe me they will remember it.

#doodlewashaday  presented to you by Susan Feniak  Holbein Artists’ Water Color on Opus Essentials Sketchbook

Thanks to Charlie O’Shields at doodlewash.wordpress.com  I have a goodly collection of doodlewashes or #doodlewashaday filling my Opus Sketchbook.  Please do visit him.  I am sure you will be inspired to fill your sketchbook.

April 8th  Today instead of doing a National Day I have drawn a bird for Draw A Bird Day.  This youngster is a juvenile Steller’s Jay.  I couldn’t resist such a cute fuzzy character.  (I plucked the imagine from the internet and have no idea who to give credit to for the photo.)  Its been a busy week here at my work desk and easel.  Time for a breather.  Have yourselves a grand weekend.  I am looking forward to seeing all the birdie drawings and posts from my WP friends.  Cheers, Susan

Thank you to Kerfe and Nina at https://methodtwomadness.wordpress.com for hosting Draw A Bird Day again this month.

Thank you to Charlie O’Shields at doodlewash.wordpress.com for #doodlewashaday

National Beer Day #doodlewashaday

April 7th  No doubt my husband will say this is the best one yet!  Wahoo!!  National Beer Day!!  Today I have doodlewashed a tall cool crisp one in a stein for you to enjoy.  Or should that be I have drawn you one?  Regardless here it is.  I must say #doodlewashaday is challenging me both imaginatively and creatively.  A good thing.  But glass?  That is a first for me.  How did I do?  Got to go, I am thirsty. Cheers, Susan
