“Lifeline”

With this photo I am attempting to explain why there hasn’t been any new art posted by me on this blog for a long time.  There hasn’t been enough hours in my day!  Please allow me to introduce you to our new lady, “Life Line”.  Hopefully I will be inspired and there will be time enough to get back to my easel soon.  Looking at this photo my fingers are twitching.  Longing to use a paint brush!

Don’t forget to go to the Summer Arts and Crafts Sale at the Red Barn in Sicamous, June 27th to July 2nd 2014.  I will have four of my paintings on display there.

Cheers, Susan

Sicamous Art Walk

I will have four of my paintings on display and for sale at Blondies Bakery and Café for the duration of the 2014 Sicamous Art Walk. The paintings I have on show right now are “The Old Dock Cinnemousun Narrows”,” Lookin’ Up”, “The Homestead”, and “Country Lane”. The Art Walk is on from now until September so be sure to tour around the local businesses and see all the talent on show. While visiting Blondies do partake of some of the delicious food they serve up!!

Giving Away

I gave two more of my paintings away this past weekend. To family members so I do know they have gone to a good home. But, still, it would be nice to sale something once in awhile. A girl needs to keep herself in canvas and paints somehow!!!
Anyway “Pond Ornaments” and “Shuswap Shore” are no longer available.
Cheers Susan

Sunset at Hermits Bay

Original art by Susan Feniak  water color on paper

It was a two painting day!!!  Along with “Lookin’ Up”  I played around with this painting.  Because I am never too sure about my ability with water colors I usually hesitate to post my efforts.  I am taking a chance here and hope you like it.  Stayin’ warm!  This was a good pass time.  Cheers!

The Cabin at Haven Point Revisited

THIS ONE HAS BEEN GIVEN TO A VERY DESERVING HOME

Original art by Susan Feniak  acrylic on 18” x 24” box canvas

My first painting of 2014!  I decided to go back to one of my favourite places and enjoy the reminder of summer.  The first version I did of this I was a relatively inexperienced painter so why not revisit?  The cabin itself is situated at Haven Point on Shuswap Lake.  When I walk by the cabin on a warm summers day it seems and feels like a cool restful place.  Unfortunately it is falling apart and has been deemed unsafe.  Some year soon, on our first boating weekend of the season I will no doubt be saddened by the cabins winter demise.  In the meantime it was nice to have a reminder of summer and warm snow free days!

Shuswap Shore

Original art by Susan Feniak  acrylic on 18” x 24” box canvas

003

NO LONGER AVAILABLE Every year after spring run off the shore line of Shuswap Lake is left littered with driftwood.  I came across this interesting arrangement of debris late last spring after the high water had receded.  For interest sake I should mention the spring snow melt is what causes the lake level to rise.  Most years it rises fifteen feet or more.  Entire trees bob around the lake until they find a final resting place on the Shuswap Shore.

This painting is offered for sale.  The asking price is $150.00 plus shipping.
