While I was in my sunshine, sandy beach and palm tree mood this painting was on and off my easel several times.  Started last fall I finally took the time to finish it.  Why not?  After all sun flowers are related to sunshine and happy thoughts aren’t they?  And who can resist a bouquet of sunflowers, tangled or not?

Hope my painting brings a little sunshine to your lives.

A Belize Memory

Yes, another memory of Belize!  I can’t help myself.  White sandy beaches, the beautiful waters of the Caribbean lapping at the shore, a gentle breeze rustling the palms.  Besides, I needed another painting for one of the walls of our new house.  And that painting needed to be bright and sunny but relaxing at the same time.  Hope I succeeded.

My first painting of 2016!  Being in need of some sunshine and warmth I recalled this scene from our trip to Belize last winter.  I came across these Pelicans “All In A Row” while riding my bike around Caye Caulker.  The Pelicans are no doubt resting after feeding on the catch of the day or perhaps they are waiting for the next fishing boat to come in.  Maybe they are just sunning themselves.  Whatever they are doing the scene brought back fond memories and that  feeling of sunshine and warmth that I needed.

original art by Susan Feniak  water colour pencil on paper  Tomorrow is Draw a Bird Day but I have gone bird crazy here so am able to post this one today and another is ready for the official day.  These two look as impressed with the fact that it is winter as I am.  Grumpy?  No matter, it is winter and there is nothing they or I can do about it.  Cheer up!!  At least they don’t have a dump of snow on them like my cardinals do!

Quick Lets Go South

I decided to take a day off from all the pre Christmas fun and games of shopping, decorating, baking, wrapping, cleaning, entertaining and all the other things associated with that upcoming event.  Time to do some art.  Now that is a switch!! Time for art??  Since it is a rather soggy sunless day in these parts I came up with a plan to paint a pair of cardinals.  You know, just to get me into a better Christmas frame of mind.  One thing led to another and the next thing I knew the cardinals were looking a little too snow bound and frazzled.  Ergo, “Quick Lets Go South”!!  I like to think the one cardinal is pointing in that direction.  It looks to me like he is. Painting Shell shoppingIts the 25th day of November and once again it is SelfieArt time!  Once again I am under time restraints so I am cheating and posting an older painting of mine titled “Shell Shopping”.  It is me and I am strolling along the Ft Lauderdale beach.  A beautiful day for shell shopping.  I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else does for SelfieArt day!!
