I was inspired by an article in June 2019 Watercolor Artist magazine “A Meditation in Light”. This is my acrylic spin on a watercolor of daisies in that article. Replication of a watercolor painting with acrylic is easier said then done. Or so it seemed to me. I am pleased with my result. Artist Susan Feniak. Acrylic on 16″ × 20″ box canvas. I finished it this afternoon. Knowing me it could end up with some revisions but for now I am pleased to say “Haven Point Cabin” is done. Those who know my art may remember that I have painted this cabin before. Twice as a matter of fact. But this is a different view and a few years on from my previous attempts. Both of my other versions have found homes so hopefully this one will too. This spot on the Shuswap inspires me. It is another of my happy places. Artist Susan Feniak. Twilight At The Narrows

This is Brock point at Cinnemousun Narrows, Shuswap Lake. At a certain time of day and the perfect calm conditions Shuswap Lake really does glow with a golden aura. Like a jewel that it is. I have wanted to paint this scene for years. Capture it on canvas as a constant reminder of the beauty. I feel somewhat disappointed with this attempt. Perhaps it’s because I know from first hand experience what it’s like to witness Twilight At The Narrows. Acrylic on 16″ x 20″ box canvas framed.

I added more shading on the boats facing away from the sun and added more sun light reflecting in other areas. Hopefully these touches are sufficient to show what I was trying to achieve. Boats sitting calmly under a cloudy sky, surrounded by the glow of a setting sun. My art is available for sale. Tomorrow Is Another Day does not need a frame. $300 plus shipping and handling.
