As 2025 comes to a close, I would like to thank everyone who supported me and my artistic endeavors by purchasing a piece of my art. Your patronage is greatly appreciated. Thank you also for continuing to like, comment and visit my Facebook pages, Instagram posts and of course here on WordPress.  Social media can be a time consuming affair so thank you for your time.

Speaking of time I did not have much of it to create this year but when I did “heilan coo’s” were a favorite for me and apparently everyone else! I hope to have more time this coming year to spend at my easel. With my husband finally settling into retirement maybe my time will once again be mine.

Here’s to a happy healthy and creative 2026! PEACE

Susan Feniak

“Donal”

Donal
Skye

Meet “Donal”. Yes, I painted another “heilan coo”. a.k.a. highland cow.  Because of “Skye” and his popularity I was commissioned by the daughter of his purchaser to paint another Skye. Acknowledging that I can’t paint the same thing exactly the same way twice (especially on a smaller scale) I agreed. Donal is the result. I do like the fact that both beasties are completely different characters. That’s the joy of creating.  I also like the fact that both will be hanging in welcoming appreciative homes. Many thanks to the lovers of Donal and Skye.

Artist Susan Feniak. Donal is acrylic on a 16″ x 16″ gallery wrapped canvas. Skye is acrylic on a 24″ x 24″ gallery wrapped canvas.

Now I hope to have time to paint something new and different.

PSST!

Hello I am Maude. Although I seem a tad distracted, I am here to announce that my artist Susan Feniak will soon be the featured artist at Gallery One Fifty in Sicamous. We will be sure to let you know exactly when. Oh and I was created using Holbein Artists Water Color on Arches hot press paper.

Panda Love

I have added a new member to my animal family. Could you resist those eyes? Could your Valentine? Artist Susan Feniak. Holbein Artists Water Color on Strathmore card stock.

Noisy Nest

It looks like a busy nest too! Artist Susan Feniak.  Water colours on Arches hot press paper. 9″Ă—12″. A real mix of product everything from QoR to Daniel Smith to Holbein.  I hope you like this gaggle of youngsters.  Cheers Susan.

A Christmas Giraffe?

So far there have been singing birdies, dancing penguins, polar bears, funny reindeer portraits but a Christmas giraffe? You bet! Gretchen is all ready for Christmas.  Artist Susan Feniak. Original art. Water colours on Strathmore card stock.

More cards

Two more of my cards. Can’t believe how much fun I am having creating these. Artist Susan Feniak.  Water colour on Strathmore card stock.

Christmas cards. All Ready?

Here is a sampling of the cards I have been working on. They are a lot of fun to do.  Original art by Susan Feniak.  QOR watercolour, Holbein Watercolour, on Strathmore card stock.

“Give Up?” #WorldWatercolorMonth

July 25th Sometimes life likes to throw stuff at you and ya just need a break. This little guy is thinking “Seriously?” Original art by Susan Feniak. QOR and Holbein Watercolors colours on Strathmore Paper. 6″Ă—6″

“Sleep With One Eye Open” #WorldWatercolorGroup

The June 27th prompt was Cucumbers.  I felt like painting Dandy the lion keeping one eye on his youngster instead. Keeping one eye on such a cutie is essential. Especially when ones youngster appears to be as inquisitive as this one does. Not to mention the dangers lurking where these two live.

I used to tell our kids that I had eyes in the back of my head too. How about you?

I need to name Dandy’s little one. Any ideas?
