I am still here in beautiful Ixtapa Mexico. I did say that I would post any art that I manage to do. So….the above are the six “one of a kind” cards that I made to donate to a silent auction in support of the elderly peoples of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. There are no pensions, no old age security here so if you don’t have family to help you or the wherewithal to maintain a home or have food and a roof over your head there is no support for you. Think about that for a moment!
We are fortunate.
For the last several years while staying here we have donated to this event and cause.

I am fortunate to have a local business owner who is providing space for me to show and hopefully sale my “one of a kind” cards. I am grateful to April from “Willow” a ladies clothing store on Main Street in Sicamous. Several cards have sold so I got busy and made some more. The photos represent the new ones that I dropped off the other day and as far as I know are still available.

I have been having fun creating this series of “Flamazing” cards. Who wouldn’t have fun with flamingos? They are flippin’ flamazing! I hope my silly sense of humor and creativity has made you smile. Although light hearted these cards do carry a message. Just sayin’

I have been busily filling an order for 10 “one of a kind” Christmas cards. So far the little mouse settling down for a long winter’s nap and the happy snowman are my favorite. I will be making more to sell at a local store, Rikki Lou Who’s Gift Emporium. It’s situated downtown Salmon Arm on Alexander St. It’s a Christmas card assembly line and my imagination gets to work overtime. I love it!

More “one of kind” cards! They seem to be what I enjoy creating the most these days. Perhaps it’s the lack of venues to sell my bigger paintings? Or perhaps it’s because small is easier for me? I enjoy creating my critters. These two “one of a kind” cards were dropped off at Rikki Lou Who’s Gift Emporium on Thursday. It’s a lovely shop on Alexander Street downtown Salmon Arm. The owner of the shop likes to carry unique gifts and she supports several local artists. I am grateful for the opportunity. Now if only I could find a venue for some of my bigger paintings.

Here are a few of the cards that I have created lately. Cards seem to be the only art that I am interested in creating these days. I am not sure if I should be worried about that or not. But at least I am doing something creative. I suppose there has been a lot on my plate lately. I am positive that I will have the urge to splash paint on a bigger scale soon.
