Having fun…

Having fun creating cards. Especially the dogs! The dogs are loosely based on works by artist Catherine Rayner. Most of my cards will eventually go to Rikki Lou Who’s Gift Emporium downtown Salmon Arm on Alexander St. and will be available for sale there. My cards are original “one of a kind”, watercolor and ink on 4″ x 6″ Strathmore card stock.

So, if you want to give someone something unique here is your answer. Each card is watercolor and ink on a 4″ x 6″ blank inside card including an envelope.

Finding solace in my art

I am fortunate to have my art. Since I started painting in 2009 it’s always gotten me through the tuff times in life. This week I found solace once again. Like taking small steps everyday to move on I started with small things like cards. I then moved onto a bigger canvas. I will share photos of that when I am done but I am sharing photos of the four cards I made. The cards are now available at Rikki Lou Who’s Gift Emporium downtown Salmon Arm on Alexander St.

World Watercolor Month Day 5

World Watercolor Month Day 5 prompt “Milestone”. SOLD Every birthday should be celebrated like it’s a milestone! Artist Susan Feniak. QoR watercolors on Strathmore card stock. 4″ x 6″.

Cards and more Cards…

It’s a rainy day here. A perfect day to make some more “one of a kind cards”. “Duke and Princess”. Years ago I did a painting similar to this one. At that time I considered it a turning point in my watercolor work. I left it up to the viewer to decide which one is Duke and which one is Princess. I am doing that again this time.

“Fiona” is “Hamish’s” sister. You may remember Hamish from last year. He was a 9″ x 11″ painting. Now hanging in a friend’s home. Fiona is a card I made for another friends birthday. Fiona seems to have managed to get herself into the same predicament as Hamish!

A new shipment of tote bags arrived the other day. I am happy with them. I don’t normally make prints of my art but I think these tote bags will help promote my art. Heavy-duty canvas and washable. If you are interested follow the instructions below. The Heron was a birthday card for a friend. And that view? That is mine this morning. Working on cards…

Juno

I have been working on cards lately. There are several family birthdays and events coming up. I still like sending cards and enjoy making them. “Juno” is based on a painting I loved in the Artists Magazine March/April 2021 issue. The original was done by artist Johne Richardson. I couldn’t resist Juno’s expression and needed to recreate it. The other two cards are self explanatory. All three cards are QoR watercolor, ink and or gouache. Artist Susan Feniak. My cards sell for $10
