Draw a Bird Day

IMG_20151110_094317740 It was draw a bird day on November 8th.  Due to computer issues and a busy schedule I missed it.  Here I have cropped an older painting of mine called “Bath Time” and am posting it as my contribution.  Better late then never!!  Cheers, Susan

“The Stand”

original art by Susan Feniak  acrylic on 24” x 24” canvas

Just a little something I have been working on.  I have been  discovering some great places to walk around our new home in Salmon Arm.  It amazes me just how many trails there are.  While out and about on these nature trails I am getting inspired.  This painting is based on yet another photo that  I took  this past summer.  Pretty sure there will be more to inspire  me as I investigate our new surroundings.

Cheers, Susan Feniak

The Princess

Original Art By Susan Feniak  acrylic on 16” x 16” canvas

She was sitting there amongst the luxury yachts.  An old girl.  In boating world one could say she has lovely lines and character.  Her name, Placencia Princess.  These days she is relegated to tourism and sight seeing cruises in Belize.  I can’t help but wonder about her past life.  I thought her worthy of some attention so I painted this for her.  One Princess to another. 🙂

This painting has been on and off my easel since I got home from Belize last winter.  Until now life got in the way of finishing it.  It was a challenge but here she is in all her splendid glory.

Cheers, Susan

#SelfieArt My first

IMG_20150923_164831360  It is the 25th of the month and I am posting a #SelfieArt.  I kept it simple this time.  Self portraits are out of my comfort zone as are painting pictures of someone else or even animals.  So why not accept a challenge? As you can see by this picture I am more complicated then meets the eye!! 🙂

Still Having Fun!

“Blinged Blossoms”  Original art by Susan Feniak  Acrylic on a 18” x 36” canvas

I am still having fun decorating our new house.  “Oh look at that there is a bare wall!”  I know exactly how to fill that space.  Being an artist just makes it that much easier!  This painting will match the new color scheme in one of the bedrooms admirably.

Thanks for stopping by.  Cheers, Susan

A Nice Day For A Walk

Previously titled, “Done?”  The consensus is that the painting is indeed done.  I did add some Canada Geese flying in formation but I have not taken another photo of the painting.  It was a nice day for a walk along the nature trail in Salmon Arm Bay. The biggest water colour I have tackled to date.  At the moment I am not sure if this one is finished or not.  I don’t want to over work it.  Usually I am happy or pleased with the end product.  Perhaps its because this is a water colour that has me doubting.  It has been fun playing and spending time at my easel.

In Progress

This is the biggest water colour I have tackled to date.  Another experiment.  An I can do it moment.  It is a work in progress but thought I could share it.

“Elegant Writer” Lucky Dollar

A first attempt at using my new “Elegant Writer” pens by Speedball. Admittedly an experiment.  I do believe I will have a lot of fun with these pens.  Thank you to Leslie White of Leslie Paints and Carol King for sharing their ideas and teaching new techniques.

Belize Dreaming

Belize Dreaming

And here is “Belize Dreaming” in its new home.

Original art by Susan Feniak  Acrylic on 18”x24” canvas

Today on a makeshift easel in my new office/studio I finally had time to paint something.  Believe it or not I needed just the right painting for a bathroom in our new house.  The Caribbean colors match perfectly.  This is a view we very much enjoyed last winter.  We spent hours just sitting looking out over the beautiful Caribbean.  A mile away from where we sat the waves were crashing over the Belize Barrier Reef.  On a good day we could hear those waves. Fond memories indeed.

Hope you have been enjoying your summer.  I am happy to be back at my easel, makeshift or not.

Cheers, Susan
