April 4th  National Chicken Cordon Bleu Day!  And another #doodlewashaday.   Who knew there is a day set aside for Cordon Bleu?  I didn’t.  It is a favourite in this household and now that I have doodlewashed one I think we might just have to partake for supper tonight.

Thanks to some cajoling from Charlie O’Shields over at doodlewash.wordpress.com  I am participating in a daily exercise of doing a doodlewash a day for the month of April.  I will try and do something everyday but some time restraints could prove difficult.  Luckily for me Charlie has set it up as a “play when you can”.  Here we are April 3rd and this is my first!! Yup, its play when I can!!  Five minutes is all I had but it was nice to find a rainbow in my day.

Time for a little fluff!  Its the middle of the night and I should be sleeping but no.  So here I am and it is time for you to meet “Haggis MacBagpipe”.  He is here to wish you a Happy Robbie Burns Day!

Way back when, in my high school years, the ‘70s, ugh, I never had any change left in my wallet for buying greeting cards.  So I made the cards myself.  Out of necessity I invented or created a gaggle of creatures and critters along the way.  There were plenty for me to choose from and they were suitable for any occasion.  “Haggis MacBagpipe” is a true original expressly for Robbie Burns Day.   A card I more then likely presented to my parents January 25th circa 1973.  Memories……

original sketch by Susan Feniak ,water colour pencils on paper.  It will be the 25th day of the month tomorrow and time for #SelfieArt.  Since I haven’t heard or read otherwise I am assuming it is that time again.  I will be hard at work tomorrow so I thought it best to post my attempt today.  It is a very quick sketch of me at my desk.  Because my office/studio is in our basement I have surrounded myself by favourite art, pictures, photos, antique plates and a bulletin board along with everything else that is colourful and enjoyable to me.  It all makes for a more pleasant working environment.   Much better then just a computer screen, calculator, printer/scanner, files, papers, and other paraphernalia that a bookkeeper needs.   Oops I better adjust all the paintings that have gotten crooked!   Even the 2016 Calendar isn’t hanging straight!  Oh and for those not in the know, January 25th is also Robbie Burns Day!!
