“Mother Love”. Introducing Fiona and wee Archie. I cannot explain my adoration of heilan coo’s. Especially this year. First there was “Skye”, then “Donal” now this, Mother Love with Fiona and Archie. I was inspired by a photo that I saw on a FB page @lovescotland. I had to paint the love shared between the two, a mother and her calf, portrayed in that photo.

Pleased to say this one has 🔴 SOLD! Thank you to the collector, who I know will give it an appreciative home.
New art!! It’s been awhile since enough time was available for me to spend time at my easel. That and I really didn’t feel like it. Then, all of a sudden I got the urge, that must do, can do, feeling that I can’t resist. It felt good.
For lack of a better name I am calling this one “Garden Visitors”. That may be a temporary title. I shall see.
I hope you like it. It’s certainly summery and colourful.

“Skye” is varnished and has a frame. Because of the cost of a frame I have to increase the asking price for “Skye” to $450.00 cdn plus shipping. It’s a white metal floating frame. Measuring 25″ to outside edges. I can still offer “Skye” at the original price of $350.00 without the frame.

After several paintings in a row that were time consuming and detail oriented I decided to let fly with a pallet knife and paints.
This painting is the result. I had fun smearing and spreading paint around the canvas. Creating lots of texture. It was a much needed change.

We have moved to the lake for the next 5 to 6 months. Our home is a 50 foot houseboat on the Shuswap. I look forward to the lazy days of summer. When all the estate matters for my mother have been dealt with. When I can find inspiration and create.
In the meantime…it snowed on the hills overnight and our furnace isn’t working. It is cold and blustery. The houseboat rocking. Getting my fingers to work could be a problem. It will be a stay indoors, try to stay warm, kind of day. Time for art. Get my groove back. A good thing.

More “one of kind” cards! They seem to be what I enjoy creating the most these days. Perhaps it’s the lack of venues to sell my bigger paintings? Or perhaps it’s because small is easier for me? Lately I have not been doing much art work. Yesterday I decided to make some time and create something. The results are the two, “one of a kind” cards shown here. I always seem to have fun creating my cards. If nothing else they are whimsical. They are also mini pieces of original art that you can keep and frame or send to someone for a special occasion.
