Hot Mess Or?

And now for something completely different. My first attempt at painting exclusively with a palette knife. Normally I don’t tackle abstract painting either. Asking a lot of myself with this one. I can’t decide if I like it or if it’s a hot mess. Probably because I don’t know much about absract. There is a lot of texture you probably can’t see. All this being said I rather enjoyed the experience. Golden artist colors on 18″ x 18″ box canvas.

Busy

I have been busy. Designing and painting Christmas cards. Yes it’s early but when one has to come up with 50+ it takes time. Good thing I really enjoy what I am doing. I am letting my imagination fly. Hope they make you smile. Artist Susan Feniak. Watercolour and ink on Strathmore card stock.

Designing Christmas Cards

Yes I know it’s early but these things take time. I have been designing this year’s Christmas cards. As per usual I am having fun. A Good thing. Hope they make you smile.

“Mara View”

Mara View. Every year we climb the hill at Bay View Estates just outside Sicamous BC and admire the view of Mara Lake from on high. I have wanted to paint that view for years. Hope you enjoy. I certainly got into the zone for this one. Cheers Susan.

Super Bear

A birthday card for a grandson. Happy Birthday Kiddo! Artist Susan Feniak.

Kingfisher

“Kingfisher” Artist Susan Feniak. Watercolor and ink on paper. I was happy to spot a pair of Kingfishers near our boat this weekend. They were busily doing what they do best, fishing. They sit and watch the water then of a sudden will dive beak first into the water. Usually loners like our neighborhood heron a pair seemed like a bonus. Next I will have to attempt painting the local raptor an Osprey.

Heron Gathering

Heron Gathering Artist Susan Feniak. Watercolor and ink on Strathmore paper. I don’t recall ever seeing a gathering of Great Blue Herons. The ones we see are loners. One has to assume they gather somewhere and sometime or there wouldn’t be anymore blue herons. Thinking out loud. Have a good week everyone.

Out Picking Wild Flowers

Such a long title for a small painting. Artist Susan Feniak. Golden Artist Colors on 8″ × 8″ canvas board. Found these nice little canvases in a plain wood frame. I have painted the frame the same color as the bike. Wishing I had bought more of them. Happy Monday!

The Turquoise Boat

I am pretty sure this is the smallest acrylic painting I have ever done. At 8 “× 8” it seems miniscule to me. But still I enjoyed painting. My inspiration was a photo found in Victoria magazine September 2018 issue. An idyllic setting or so it seems to me. Cheers Susan

“Clean Up Crew”

Clean Up Crew. Artist Susan Feniak. Golden Artist Colors on box canvas. 24″×24″. As always I am inspired by the ocean, water or seaside. I recall many scenes like this while living on the west coast.
