“The Blue Bike”

“The Blue Bike” original art by Susan Feniak.  Lately I have been surrounded by people I refer to as “me” people.  Self centered self serving folks that do not realize there is a consequence for their actions.  So today it was important to escape to my happy place.  You know get into the zone. This painting is the end result.  Have you ever stepped back from what you have been busily creating and known you have “done good”? It’s a giddy feel good thing.  I haven’t had that feeling for awhile but today I know I “done good”.  See me smile? PEACE

“Yellow Pansy”

20170123_121102“Yellow Pansy” Original art by Susan Feniak.  Acrylic on 18″ x 18″ box canvas.  A lot of texturing, splattering and generally good old messy fun ensued while creating this ray of sunshine on a January day.  It has been awhile since I painted anything.  It has also been awhile since I visited you my WordPress friends.   I do hope everyone is having a good winter.  Cheers, Susan

#WorldWatercolorGroup “Carrots”

20161109_100627#WorldWatercolorGroup  November 9th.  The prompt for today, “Carrots”.  I know the best carrots are straight from ones own garden.  The baby carrots that you pull yourself and immediately take over to the garden hose to rinse off.  Then you munch on them to your hearts content.  Sweet and crunchy.  Warm from the earth.  All the while a smile on your face.  Hey you grew them yourself.  Now days I can only remember that sensation because I have to buy my carrots at the local grocer’s or farmer’s market.  Some how its always better if that bunch of carrots still has a little dirt on them.  Cheers.  PEACE.

#WorldWatercolorMonth “Day Lily”

IMG_20160712_123302#WorldWatercolorMonth  July 12  “Day Lily”  Today I went out to the garden and saw that my Day Lily’s were all in bloom.  I decided they were a worthy subject for my painting of the day.  Definitely challenging enough!!  Hope you are having a beautiful day. Peace

#NatureDoodlewash Butterfly

June 9th   Today I have decided to stay closer to home and go for a walk in the garden.  I inspect all my flowers and shrubs and make sure they are thriving in this heat wave.  To my great joy and wonder a butterfly stops by for a visit.   Flitting from flower to bud.  Hardly stopping long enough for me to see  its shape and colors.  How can I remember how to draw that?  If only my butterfly bush had survived the winter, then maybe my visitor would have stayed longer.

Thoughts of Spring

Original art by Susan Feniak  Acrylic on 18”x18” box canvas

After my last painting “Winterized” and rather wintery weather in our part of the world I decided it was time to turn my attention to “Thoughts of Spring”.  While out for a walk early last spring I took countless photos of Magnolias coming into bloom.  This painting is from that walk.  I have been waiting for just the right time to put brush to easel and paint the glorious blooms.  Hope my “Thoughts of Spring” brightens your winter day!

Please remember comments are always welcome.  Cheers, Susan Feniak
