A long time on the easel!

Progress! As you may know I was on hiatus in Mexico for a month. We returned safely a while back but as you also know things have gone sideways in this old world of ours.

Between getting caught up with work (I work from home) and other commitments there has been precious little time for art and getting caught up with it. I started this painting before we went away. By the time I got back to playing with it I couldn’t remember my original plan. Whether that is my age or these challenging times I don’t know. This is what I am doing with what I started. If all else fails add a nest and some birdies and carry on from there. This is me and my art.

I hope all of you are okay. Please stay healthy and be safe. We can get through this crisis with our art.

“Ocean Jewel”

Ocean Jewel. Something new and different. Artist Susan Feniak. Golden acrylics on a 20″ x 20″ x 1.5″ thick canvas. No frame needed. Hope you like this bit of bling. To achieve the texture on the starfish I used a thick layer of Goldens gel gloss.

“Ocean Jewel” a better photo.

“Shine On”

“Shine On”. This is how I deal with the cold snowy days of our Canadian winter. I dream of a sunny warmer climate and swimming with a smiling Tortuga. And then create that scene on my easel. I hope Shine On makes you feel warm and cozy. If a tortuga can smile then so can we. No matter what. Artist Susan Feniak. Golden Artist Acrylics on 24″ x 24″ canvas. I may have to keep this one for a little while. An update: since posting this my tortuga has been given a name, Trudy. Trudy now greets everyone entering our front door with her smile.

“High And Dry”

It’s official my first painting of 2020 has a name. High And Dry. Between my Instagram, Facebook and WP site there was a tied vote. I ended up asking my husband which name he preferred Skiff’s at Low Tide or High and Dry. Thank you to all that took the time to cast their vote.

My first painting of 2020

My first painting of 2020. As yet untitled. Perhaps you can help me name it. Which one do you like “Skiffs at Low Tide” or “High and Dry”? I am keeping this one for now. A birthday present for me by me. Spending time at my easel certainly helps me forget all the goings on in this world of ours. Everyone should try it! Spreading a little positivity and happiness with art. Cheers Susan Feniak Acrylic on 18″ x 24″ x 1.5″ thick canvas. susanfeniakart.com

I am very thankful for your continued support with “likes” and kind comments. For those of you that liked my art enough to purchase it and hang it in your homes I am grateful. Here is hoping that 2020 is another creative year. With my sincerest wish that everyone has a happy healthy 2020. PEACE. Susan Feniak

Remembering

“Remembering”. My latest painting. My homage to all those who have sacrificed their lives or given of themselves so we can enjoy freedom. I live in one of the finest countries in the world because someone fought for it and for us and our future. So as Canadians we are free to live life like nowhere else. Be grateful for that freedom and our country. United in Peace. Remembrance day November 11th 2019

Artist Susan Feniak. Acrylic on 20″ x 20″ canvas.

“Hurry Home”

Hurry Home! This one is drying on my easel. I wanted to do something a bit different. It certainly was fun to do. Who knew a rainy city night could be fun? I had the idea rumbling around in my imagination for awhile. Putting it all on canvas was the next trick. Hope you like it. Acrylic on 20″ x 20″ x 1.5″ thick canvas painted on all sides. No frame needed. $250.00

Has my art been discovered?

Has my art been discovered? I ask this question because in the last two days eight of my paintings have SOLD. I am beyond thrilled my art is finding forever homes. I am grateful and thankful to the ladies that spent the time to search my website, ask me questions, select the pieces they like best and then make their purchases. The process is time consuming. One can only hope rewarding for all concerned. Now it is up to me to make sure the same ladies are happy with their purchases and that my art gets to it’s new homes in one piece. Thank you.
