Merry Christmas

May your Christmas be merry and bright. Stay safe and stay well. Peace, Susan Feniak

December is a busy time

December is a busy time for everyone. This year I made almost 4 dozen Christmas cards. About 1/2 of them sold the rest were sent out to family and friends. Today we had our first major snow event of the season. That meant we needed to shovel snow off our houseboat. And of course what is December without a visit with the jolly old elf himself. And yes I have been good all year. No wish list involved. Just my hope that everyone stays safe and healthy this Christmas. Cheers Susan Feniak

Slow going work in progress… Where is time going?

I started this painting ages ago, perhaps a month has gone by. The Christmas card assembly line has taken over my art space and my paying job has sucked up my time. I haven’t managed to get back to this painting to finish it. Between one thing and another there just hasn’t been enough hours in my days. Since I am looking forward to retiring soon I will have more time. Maybe then this painting will finally get my attention. Looking forward to it. Cheers Susan Feniak.

Assembly line

My 2021 Christmas card assembly line is in full swing. Here are some of my designs for this Christmas. All are original watercolors on 4″ x 6″ blank inside cards. Hand painted and created by me, Susan Feniak. Having fun and using some of my imagination. Hope you enjoy. Cheers Susan

These are the ten paintings that I submitted to the Federation of Canadian Artists to achieve my “Active Member” status. All of them are acrylic on canvas. Various sizes. They are all original either from my imagination or from a memory. Sometimes I use a photo that I have taken for inspiration. Regardless a jury of my peers thought at least six or more of the ten (six being the minimum) were good enough to be juried into any art show hosted by the FCA in Canada. I am thrilled to have accomplished this feat as it has been a personal goal of mine for some time.

Hope you enjoy. Cheers Susan Feniak

An achievement!

An honor

I am proud to announce that I achieved my Active Status in the prestigious Federation of Canadian Artists. I submitted 10 of my most recent paintings to the Federation (FCA) to be juried by my peers. This was my fourth or fifth attempt and at last success! I feel honored. I will continue to practice and to learn. Most of all I will continue to enjoy creating. Art is essential!

Cheers Susan Feniak

Ebb and Flow

Ebb and Flow

“Ebb and Flow”. My latest painting. As in life, water has ebbs and flow. Or maybe I mean as in water and the ocean tides, life has its ebbs and flow. Regardless, this painting reminds me of my brother and his love of the ocean. I was thinking of him while painting it. One of his favorite places was Tofino, situated on the west coast of Vancouver Island. I will and am missing my brother but I have all the happy wonderful memories of all the times spent with him. A lifetime. Dedicated to David, with love, Ebb and Flow. Gone, never to be forgotten.

Progress report…

I have another painting started on my easel. Barely started. But here are a few progress photos. I have been doing so many floral creations lately that I decided it was time for a change. Cheers Susan Feniak. Acrylic on a 24″ x 24″ gallery canvas.

Anfractuous

“Anfractuous”

“Anfractuous”. Truly a labor of love, this painting is complete and drying on my easel. If you look up the meaning of the word anfractuous, you will understand why I gave this painting that name. I hope you like it. Cheers Susan Feniak.

Another start…

I had so much fun creating my last painting that I decided to do another floral piece. It helps that I have a beautiful bunch of sunflowers sitting on our table to inspire me. After this, I think that I will be finished with florals for awhile.  It will be time for something else. I hope you enjoy my progress reports….
