I had a late start in 2024. I didn’t start spending time at my easel until late March, early April. Taking that into account I think that I produced a lot of art this year. These are only the first 9 of 17 bigger pieces. Since WordPress limited the amount of photos I could post I will have to make a part 2.

There were also countless “one of a kind” cards created too. Sadly because of the Canada Post strike and the lack of a venue this year I did not make many Christmas cards. There is always next year.

Thank you to all that supported me this year. I really do appreciate your continued support. My artistic endeavors and journey can continue thanks to you.

Cheers, Susan Feniak

Revising the revision of the revisions….hahaha

Heartsease
Ebb and Flow

“Heartsease” has received some more revisions. I am particularly fussy about putting this view onto canvas. It is, after all, our favorite view of Mara Lake BC. I am now happy with what I see. And feel that Heartsease doesn’t need anymore tweaks or revisions. All ready for your viewing enjoyment.

Speaking of revisions,  “Ebb and Flow” also got a few more tweaks or highlights. It will be ready for varnishing soon. In the meantime it’s ready for everyone’s visual enjoyment.

Heartsease is acrylic on a 20″ x 24″ gallery wrapped canvas. Asking $350.00 cdn plus shipping.

Ebb and Flow is acrylic on a 24″ x 24″ gallery wrapped canvas. Asking $400.00 cdn plus shipping.  If either get framed they will have to be priced accordingly.

Another revision in progress….

Now you see it….
Now you don’t….
The start of something new….
Progress…?
More progress.
And more progress.

Another revision is in progress on my easel. I  painted the original in October of 2021. Shortly after my dear brother died.   I was never completely happy with the original painting. Considering the circumstances no one, including myself, should be surprised by that. At the time I thought that I would live with the painting for awhile, think on it.  I did manage to give it a title,  “Ebb andFlow”. Lately I have been giving this painting and another one a great deal of thought.  No better time than the present to have a go at revising and hopefully improving it.

My husband says the sand bar looks like it’s pushing the water. Oh oh. That doesn’t sound good. It’s supposed to be the other way around with the water pushing and surrounding the sand bar. What do you think? All that being said the painting/revision is still a work in progress. Time will tell…..

🔴 “Woodland Stroll”

I am pleased to say that my painting Woodland Stroll has found its forever home. Thank you to collector Sandy. Your continued support is very much appreciated.

It had been awhile since I last created a larger painting and actually have a painting sell. For me it’s NOT about selling my art.  It is more about creating. All that being said it is always reassuring to have someone like my art enough to hang in their home. It is satisfying.

Gratefully yours Susan Feniak

More cards and the start of something big….

You are no bunny until some bunnies love you ❤️
Commission begins WIP

Getting my groove back, see previous post, involved starting with small things like my “one of a kind” cards. After making about a dozen cards I felt it was time or perhaps I was ready to work on something bigger. Silly me jumped right into a commission that was ordered a month or two ago. I don’t know about my fellow artists thoughts on commissions but I put my heart and soul into them. I want perfection. It’s got to be exactly what the person who orders it dreams of or envisions. A hard task, that reading and meeting of minds. Upon reflection I should have started with something for me, something fun, something to flex my creative muscles and blow off the cobwebs. All that being said the commission is coming together nicely although slowly. (It’s the last photo) I am up for the challenge or so it seems. So far. Oh and FYI I put my heart and soul into everything I create.

Artist Susan Feniak. The “one of a kind” cards are watercolors and ink on 5″ x 7″ cards. The painting is a WIP acrylic on a 20″ x 20″ gallery canvas.

Christmas is coming…

These are the 10 Christmas cards that I have for sale at Rikki Lou Who’s Gift Emporium on Alexander Street downtown Salmon Arm BC. I hope to find time to make more. Every card is a “one of a kind” hand painted original piece of art. Watercolor and ink on a 5″ x 7″ card, blank inside with an envelope.

Artist Susan Feniak QoR watercolors and ink on Strathmore card stock. My imagination needs to work overtime this time of year!

World Watercolor Month Days 5,6,7,8 and 9

World Watercolor Month Days 5,6,7,8 and 9. All are QoR watercolors and ink on Strathmore card stock. 4″ x 6″ Artist Susan Feniak. Since all of these have sold 🔴 I better get busy and make more.

Happy weekend everyone and keep painting!

Seaside Idyll

Seaside Idyll is the tentative title for my latest painting. The photos are of my process and progress for the painting. For my inspiration I used an image taken by a friend of mine. Unfortunately she can’t remember where she took the shot. I do know it was taken somewhere in the pacific north west. Possibly a view from an area around or near Vancouver BC looking towards Vancouver Island in the distance or vice-versa. Regardless I found it an interesting view. When I spotted the 12″ x 36″ canvas I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. FYI This particular size of canvas is very difficult to get a good photo of!

Artist Susan Feniak. Golden Artist Acrylics on a 12″ x 36″ gallery canvas. Asking $250 plus shipping. If you are interested in this painting or any of my other pieces please email sfeniakart@gmail.com Thank you.

Assembly line

My 2021 Christmas card assembly line is in full swing. Here are some of my designs for this Christmas. All are original watercolors on 4″ x 6″ blank inside cards. Hand painted and created by me, Susan Feniak. Having fun and using some of my imagination. Hope you enjoy. Cheers Susan

Anfractuous

“Anfractuous”

“Anfractuous”. Truly a labor of love, this painting is complete and drying on my easel. If you look up the meaning of the word anfractuous, you will understand why I gave this painting that name. I hope you like it. Cheers Susan Feniak.

Artist Susan Feniak. Acrylic on 18″ x 24″ gallery canvas, painted on all sides. This painting is officially SOLD.

The artist busily creating.
