Day 5 World Watercolor Month

Day 5 World Watercolor Month and the prompt is Loose and Free. I went in another direction then I am sure the prompt was meant. This dog got loose and is free. Silly me.

Why me?

Why me? SOLD That’s what this dog is most likely thinking. Did you as a child ever play dress up with your pet? I remember putting clothes on our black lab, Pal and later a mutt we called Snoopy. Funny how at the time they seemed to play along. Artist Susan Feniak. QoR watercolor and ink on Fabriano paper. This one is matted and will be available at Gallery One Fifty in Sicamous when it opens.

Hanging Around

Hanging Around is more about reflections and the Blue Heron then anything else. A busy weekend working on assorted projects aboard our boat but I still managed to sneak in art time. Thankful for a thoughtful husband who let’s me be me. Which is hang around messing about with my watercolors, brushes and papers. Hope you had a lovely weekend too.

Happy Elephant

SOLD Another one of my cards ready for the summer art show and sell season. Everyone of my cards are original, one of a kind, watercolor and ink, on Strathmore card stock. The buyer can send them or frame them. Sometimes a hard choice. I haven’t been able to part with several. For instance Henry the dog is staying in my home. Along with a flamingo or two. Hope you like this happy young elephant.

Sea dog

SOLD Yesterday I busied myself making cards to display and hopefully sale this summer at Three Buoys Marina in Sicamous. Sea dog is one of them. At our marina dogs and boats belong together. Fondly referred to as boater dogs. That being said this fella should be called lake dog. Lake or sea the water is the place to be for me. Boating season begins this weekend. Hooray!

Seahorse

Seahorse fun. Artist Susan Feniak. QoR watercolor and ink on Fabriano 5.5″ x 8.5″ paper. Nothing as fun as splattering and splashing paint about.

Show Off!

For Draw a bird day I present the Show Off! I haven’t contributed to draw a bird day for an age so thought I would this month. The 8th day of every month is for draw a bird day. Hope you have an unruffled kind of day. Cheers Susan. QoR watercolor and ink on Fabriano 5.5″ x 8.5″ paper.

Sea Holly

I call this plant Sea Holly. I know it has a Latin name and there are several species. It reminds me of thistles that I have painted on several occasions. I love all the pointy jagged bits. Fun to paint and that is the main part of my adventures in art. Artist Susan Feniak. Daniel Smith watercolor and ink on 9″ x 12″ Strathmore Vision paper.

Happy Place

Play time is art time. A happy place is at the beach. Any beach. The happiest place of all? On our boat. I hope to be spending time on our happiest place of all soon. In the meantime I will paint a beach, any beach will do. Smiling. Artist Susan Feniak. QoR watercolor and ink 8″ x 10″ Fabriano paper.

Trouble?

Trouble? It’s no secret I love dogs. Apparently I also enjoy painting them. Creating their individuality and personality is fun. Their facial expressions and giving them that look of unquestioning adoration seems to come easily to me. Easier perhaps then capturing their human counterparts with brush and watercolour. I hope these three make you smile. Who wouldn’t smile it’s the first of May.
