Thrilled!

I am thrilled to say that three of my paintings were juried into The Federation of Canadian Artists Curated online Show July and August. This is a big step in the right direction for me. I entered my work some time ago and by the time I learned that all three had been accepted Waves Brilliant Dance had sold. Ergo I had to withdraw that painting. Overseer and Tulip Glow are still available for sale in show. To see the online show try http://www.artists.ca or http://www.federationgallery.com I have a link on my Facebook page as well.

The Red Barn Arts Center annual show

It’s almost time for the annual arts and crafts sale at The Red Barn Arts Center in Sicamous BC. I will have four paintings in the show this year along with several of my “one of a kind” hand painted greeting cards. If you are anywhere near Sicamous June 29th thru July 4th, please take the time to pop by and have a look. It’s well worth your time and effort. It is your chance to purchase from and support the many very talented artists and artisans of the Shuswap area. Cheers Susan Feniak

Cards and more Cards…

It’s a rainy day here. A perfect day to make some more “one of a kind cards”. “Duke and Princess”. Years ago I did a painting similar to this one. At that time I considered it a turning point in my watercolor work. I left it up to the viewer to decide which one is Duke and which one is Princess. I am doing that again this time.

“Fiona” is “Hamish’s” sister. You may remember Hamish from last year. He was a 9″ x 11″ painting. Now hanging in a friend’s home. Fiona is a card I made for another friends birthday. Fiona seems to have managed to get herself into the same predicament as Hamish!

Artist Susan Feniak. Watercolor, gouache and ink on Strathmore card stock. 4″ x 6″.

One framed and one named…

One framed: Once again I called upon my friend to make a frame. My painting “Quietude” needed one of her rustic board frames. I think she did a great job. Many thanks and some wine was involved. THIS PAINTING IS SOLD!

One named: I let my husband make the final decision and he chose “Center Stage” for my latest painting. There were only three votes made and I couldn’t make up my mind. This water lily was inspired by our pond that we used to have. And if I must give more credit I will have to say that an article in the magazine Watercolor Artist, summer 2021 also inspired me to revisit painting a water lily. It’s been awhile. Center Stage is my loosely based acrylic version of a watercolor painting in the article about the artist Brent Funderburk. His work is beautiful.
