Just finished another 10″ x 10″ painting. Small by my standard. These are the progress photos and the final painting. I decided to leave the background white. Maybe it’s the start of a new trend? The title is “Yellow Maze”. If you were interested in purchasing this painting you are too late as it SOLD almost immediately. Thank you to the purchaser. Selling art has been a tuff slog this summer as venues have been few and far between. I am fortunate to have sold anything. Finished and drying on my easel, “Catharsis”. Purple Cone Flower or Echinacea. Although small this painting is symbolic to me on many levels. I am sending positive thoughts and healing vibes to my family in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
After weeks of drought, wildfires, ash and smoke we finally got rain. It was pure joy to go outside this morning and take in big breathes of fresher cleaner air. The fires are far from being extinguished or even under control but it is a reprieve. Thank you to the firefighters, helicopter and waterbomber crews, volunteers and behind the scene workers like mechanics that keep everything running. We are grateful to all who have been working endless hours trying to keep us safe.

Drying on my easel, “Sail Away”. I took a bit of a break after World Watercolor Month and a very busy July. Of a sudden yesterday I had the urge to put palette knife, brush and paint to canvas. Oh joy! Artist Susan Feniak. Golden Artist Acrylics and heavy gel gloss on a 20″ x 20″ canvas. There is a lot of texture in this one. And it was a lot of fun, I even used a credit card to spread and smear the paint. A true escape from the trial and tribulations this past few weeks have thrown at us. Let me know what you think. #WorldWatercolorMonth Day 23 prompt “Home”. In the warmer months, April through October home is a boat. Not one of these but a houseboat in Sicamous. Despite wildfires and the resulting smoke it’s still home. Thank you to all the firefighters, waterbomber and helicopter crews for keeping our town safe. Such a dangerous job but so amazing to watch.
