New! Still drying on my easel. “Dock Time”. I have painted and shared the view from our aft deck of Mara Lake. This time I have painted the scene from our forward deck. I am talking of the Sicamous channel. I used a lot of artistic freedom and chose to ignore all the peripheral condo buildings, marinas, docks, and pilings. Instead I focused on one dock and the boats there. It’s Three Buoys Marina looking toward Bruhn Bridge on hwy 1, a.k.a. Trans Canada Hwy, and the train bridge. The train bridge opens and closes to let boats go through to Shuswap Lake. Acrylic on 20″ x 20″ x 1.5″ canvas. Asking $250

High Water Sweepers. Artist Susan Feniak. Golden Artist Acrylics on a 18″ x 24″ gallery canvas. Purely from my imagination this scene could easily be along the Eagle River. The river is situated in the Shuswap Lake area of British Columbia. Sweepers are a danger to all river traffic. In particular kayaker’s and stand up paddle boarders. A person can easily get entangled in the hidden snares and snags of branches and roots. Sweepers are prevalent particularly this time of year during run off season and high water levels. Or like on a rainy day like today. As for my painting I am hoping it leaves the viewer relaxed and the natural beauty of the surroundings enjoyed. Cheers Susan Feniak. Saturday was an exciting day! “When It’s Calm” and “Lifting Fog” went to new homes. Thank you to the new owners. SOLD! A new watercolor completed. My watery theme continues with another lighthouse. “When It’s Calm”. At the moment this looks like a tranquil spot. But my imagination tells me it can get wild, battered by storms. Why else have a lighthouse to warn unwary ships? Please do tell me what you think.

Waves Brilliant Dance. My latest painting is still drying on my easel. These days the ocean and waves seem to be my muse. That comes as no surprise to me. To achieve the texture I used several different palette knives and a credit card. The entire painting was done without a brush. Admittedly this technique is hard on my acrylic paint supply. Even using Goldens soft gel gloss to extend my paint it sucked up lots. Did I have fun? No need to ask. Did I make a big mess with paint smeared everywhere, even on my phone? You bet. A joyful mess. I am pleased with the end result.
